Christmas was around the corner, which meant that soon enough it would start snowing in Rose Metal. Hailey and her band decided to help out the shelter Daisy volunteers at by playing in the fund-raiser she was planning, since it would be a nice way to attract more help from others.

It was around 4pm, the school was almost empty, only a few students were staying since they had to finish preparations for the Christmas party the school was holding, however, Jake and Hailey didn't share the same reason as the others, they were staying for longer to finish writing the last song for the fund-raiser.

"What about finally giving Milly her guitar solo?" Jake suggested, holding his laugh. "You know it far better than I, she wouldn't be able to control herself and smash her guitar..." The teal haired girl sighed with a smile on her face, she couldn't help but imagine how excited she'd get. "Trueee..." Before Hailey could know it, Jake started laughing, "Huh? What's so funny?" She asked, tilting her head. "Just imagine how mad Zander would get on stage" He let out, silence filled the room for a second before Hailey started laughing with him, "He'd be so pissed!" She let out, struggling to keep her usual composure.

After the music competition, she started to hang out a lot with Jake, he thought it would be a nice way to "reconciliate" after everything that happened, and she agreed, since then, they've been hanging out almost all the time, usually getting cute comments from elder people who thought they were dating, or free flowers given to Jake to give to Hailey, none of them seemed to mind, they actually found it funny and as a great new topic to joke about.

None of them admitted it, but they liked the idea of people thinking they belonged together.

Minutes had passed, they finally calmed down and continued writing the last bit of the song. "Hey Hails?" Jake poked her arm to catch her attention, which of course did. "I was talking with my mom the other day, and she mentioned that the aquarium would be opening after many months of repairing, maybe we could go tomorrow since it's Saturday? I know you love starfishes and jellyfishes and they have a whole zone just for them so I thought you'd be happy to come and-"

"Your voice is so precious" Hailey let out in the middle of Jake's rant.

"H-huh?" Jake stuttered, he didn't expect to get a compliment after talking so much, he felt his face turn red, and so did Hailey's when she realized what she had just said. "I'm so sorry!" Hailey yelled, covering her now flustered face with her hands.

The both of them stayed in silence for a minute, which felt like hours to them, Jake, finally had the courage to say something "Thank you" He smiled, causing the teal haired singer to smile back at him. "But can we go to the aquarium tomorrow, please, princess?" He asked, grabbing her arm and shaking it, trying to get her to agree. "Of course I'll go with you, but stop shaking my arm" She said, unpleased with his actions, he always had the tendency to shake her arm or poke her to get her attention.

"Alright then we're finally done" She said proudly "I'll pass it to my laptop and send it to Sean" She added while getting her laptop out of her bag. "You can head home if you want, I'm pretty sure I don't need help for this, and I know you're probably tired" Hailey said, looking at Jake. "Don't worry I'll wait for you, we can go celebrate our hard work with hot chocolate, my treat" The peach haired boy beamed. "Alright, but next time it'll be mine" She smiled, Jake nodded as he watched Hailey get back to work.

Hailey ended up changing several things from the lyrics because she wasn't completely pleased, and Jake didn't find anything else to do other than randomly press keys of Zander's piano. He looked at Hailey, to ask was it turning out, she was struggling to tie her hair due to the stress of the song not turning out as she thought. He approached her to help out.

"Want me to tie it for you? Just focus on your work" He asked as his hand toyed with a strand of her long teal hair, "Just don't tangle it" She replied, and Jake started to braid her hair, he likes helping his mom with her hair, and Milo's hair was almost long enough to braid, so it really helped him not to forget about that skill.

"What are you doing? You've been so quiet" She giggled, trying to touch her hair to figure out what was going on, but he slapped her hand before she could "I'm braiding your hair, don't touch it I still haven't finished" Hailey sighed and let him do his job while she sent the song to Sean to keep in his laptop.

"Finally, we're both done" Jake said as he tied her braid and stood in front of her, "Shall we get going?" He said as he grabbed his bag from the ground, watching Hailey smile looking at herself on the camera of her phone, he couldn't help but smile at her "You look beautiful, now, shall we get going?" Hailey felt her face heat up, did he really call her beautiful so easily? She thought, "Princess?" Jake knocked her out of her thoughts with that nickname, she used to dislike it at first, but it slowly grew on her. "Sorry, let me close the door and we leave!" She said as she closed the door behind her.
