Change your Life (H.S.)

Chapter 1

Today was the first day of Highschool and to be honest I was not that excited, I did not see what the big deal was. It was just like any other first day of school.
"Amy you are going to be late for school if you do not get up!"
"Alright I will be right down."
So I dragged myself out of bed and showered really quickly. I went back to my bedroom and picked out my outfit. A high waisted floral print skirt and a light pink crop top with my favorite pair on vans.
After that I did my regular makeup routine and curled my hair. When I finally got downstairs my mom almost had my head on a platter because I took so long getting ready.
"You know you really need to start getting ready faster Amy you know in the morning we are always in a rush."
"Yes but do you realize mom if I did not take this long to get ready I would look like crap and you always said that you wanted a daughter that cared about her appearance"
After my little witty comment my mother just huffed and told me to eat quickly and get in the car. My mother always tried to control me. The same thing with my younger brother and my dad, she wanted us to be a "perfect" family but I don't see the big deal, I mean with my family I would want us to be a loving family not a perfect one. I would take "loving" over "perfect" any day but I guess that's just how my mother works.
My dad had already left for work so it was just my mom that dropped me off at school before she went to drop off my bother. When I got there I went to go look for my best friends Vanessa and Veronica. They were standing at the entrance looking like lost puppies in front of the gigantic school.
"Hey guys how was your summer" I said.
"Amy we just saw you last night what are you talking about" Vanessa laughed. To say we hang out a lot is an understatement. We basically spend every waking moment we can with each other!
"I know just trying to make joke!" I laughed!
"Well don't because your jokes suck!" Veronica added. She was always one to sass everyone! Feisty and that is why she is one of my bestfriends!
"So you ready for the school year!" Vanessa asked.
"Yea I guess, I really don't care that much" I answer truthfully.
"Wow Amy even on the first day of HIGH SCHOOL you still don't give a shit" Veronica laughs.
"That's how I have always been so what's the point."
We all agree to that and walk into our school for the next 4 years until some boy with curly brown hair and emerald green eyes stop me.
