"I feel nervous now."
Neteyam laughed at her words. "Really? All of a sudden? Why? You just fought me oh so fiercely into saying yes to you."
"But this is different... it's your parents! Your family," Enyu stressed, squishing her brows together. "I've been avoiding them lately and now... now I what- just tell them that I am coming with you all? Wait. What if they say no? What if they refuse to let me come? 'Tey I don't know if I can do this tonight, maybe we should just do it tomor-"
"Flower," he shushed, halting their stroll from the ikran enclosures. They had just returned from their flight and were on their way to his family's home.
He grasped her both arms and rubbed them comfortingly. "You worry too much. Hey- Stop." Cupping her cheek, he pressed a kiss to her furrowed brow then smoothed out the creases she'd formed with his thumb. "They love you, okay? They'll get it. No more panicking."
When they finally walked into the Sully tent together, his family immediately paused their busy activities to openly stare at Enyu.
Lo'ak and Jake had both given her a double take from where they were taking down an extremely beautiful but heavy tapestry that was gifted to Jake and Neytiri.
Kiri, who was at the kitchenette packing away some dinner bowls, stood and gaped in disbelief, a slow grin stretching across her face.
And from her spot where she was seated at the family table with Neytiri who was wrapping neck pieces and other delicate items in cloth, Mo'at merely glanced in their direction, almost as if she were already expecting them.
Little Tuk, Enyu assumed was sleeping, since she was nowhere to be seen. It was pretty late after all.
'Maybe they really should've done this in the morning..." Enyu thought, second guessing herself as all eyes remained fixed on her.
Neteyam brushed his knuckles across her lower back in reassurance and nudged her further into the main room, standing right behind her in support. He himself felt a bit out of place, having still been on his family's bad side from his recent behaviour against his best friend.
It was Neytiri who approached her slowly, as if she couldn't believe it was really her. The mother grasped Enyu's hands in her own, giving her a warm but watery smile. She assessed her, tilting her head this way then that, grabbing and checking her tail's end, taking in her wild hair and thumbing at her puffy red rimmed eyes with a tut.
'I must look terrible,' Enyu thought, feeling slightly self conscious.
But then Neytiri was hugging her, in a very warm and motherly embrace, making Enyu a tad choked up and touched by her concern.
Releasing her, Neytiri's glare at her son rivalled his famous side-eyes stare. "My son is stupid. Stupid!" she hissed through bared fangs.
Neteyam's ears turned downward with guilt but he stayed silent.
"Come," the mother ordered, tugging Enyu toward the table. "Kiri, get her something to eat." Neytiri eyed her son over her shoulder for a second and her shoulders slumped. "And for your brother too."
Kiri ran over and gave Enyu a quick squeeze and a dazzling smile before dashing off to put a meal together. Jake and Lo'ak came over as well, wearing matching grins.
"Hi, Kid. It's good to see you," Jake nodded, as he sat across from her.
"Hi, Sir. It's good to see you too."
"I missed you, Tiny. It sucks when you're not around to annoy my ass," Lo'ak teased, sitting beside her, giving her a small side hug and ruffling her already messy hair.
