POV: Y/n

Our house is small. It's one level and in the shape of a square. Next to the house is a small shed with one shelf. The shed is so small that only one or two people could fit inside. We use this to store the dead lizards and our cooking utensils after work.

My aunt works hard everyday to keep us afloat, but most of the time I think I am causing us to sink.

~

I woke up as soon as the sun was up, like usual. I got up and started helping my aunt prepare the lizards that we would be selling today. For as long as I can remember all my aunt ever did was sell her gross lizard kabobs and yell at me.

The day was like any other. The regulars came. The sun was hot. I gossiped with locals.

At the end of the day I put away the cooking supplies in the shed, and brought in the extra lizards into the house.

"Y/n." I hear my aunt yell from her room. I put down the extra lizards and wander over to my aunts room. I stick my head into the doorway. (there is no door.) It's a small room, more like a closet. Only room for her old broken bed. It was the only actual other room in the house besides the bathroom which was somehow smaller. My aunt laid on her bed, her face paler than usual.

"Can you sweep up outside? There is too much ash," I froze for a second as the words escaped her lips. She never wanted me to go outside after dark, even if it was just to sweep. And now she was asking me to do it alone?

I wanted to question her, but that never got us anywhere. So I silenced that part of my brain and agreed.

"Of course," I responded, grabbing the broom from the kitchen and leaving the house.

"She's acting strange. Why is she not doing this? She always does this!" I thought to myself. I tried to ignore all my worries and focus on the good part of tonight. I was out by myself. Free from my aunt...even if I was only a couple feet from the house.

I watched as people walked back to their homes and locked everything away. Nevarro was a very dirty and dangerous city. I just wished that someone would one day save the planet I call home.

~

After about an hour of struggling with the broom to clean up I was almost finished. I was tired and exhausted so I decided to go back inside.

Just as I had finished, two stormtroopers walked past. They normally didn't walk past, but when they did they kept away from me. The mumbling from one of the storm troopers caught my attention. I know I'm just being paranoid so I started to ignore them.

"Hey!" The stormtrooper yells at me. They start walking over my way. Panic rose as they neared me.

"Yes?" I question with a shaky voice.

"You need to get inside ma'am." The stormtrooper's request was nothing crazy and yet it still made me feel on edge. Nodding I walked into the shed, hoping to listen in on what they were talking about.

"The Mandalorian did it!" One stormtrooper said barely audible, surprise lacing his voice. "He brought in the child."

~

After they were gone I went back inside the house and fell asleep on the couch.

'Child' was the last thing I thought about that night. If they were talking about what I think, then what could a child have done wrong?

Dream~

Playing outside with my mother. The sun was down and the sky was covered in clouds. My mother was panicked, she must have known because the next day she was found dead. No one cared enough to look into her murder. I sat there looking at her body for hours, hoping for her to wake up. Someone pulled me away and I never looked back.

It was a memory from my childhood.

~

When I woke up I realized I'd overslept!

"Auntie's going to be so mad!" I whispered to myself while quickly running out the door. I stepped outside but there was nothing there. The fire's not made, the lizards aren't prepared and auntie is nowhere to be found.

"Where could she be? Maybe her room?" I asked aloud as my eyes scanned the area slowly.

I made my way back inside, going straight into my aunt's doorway again. Then I found her. She was in the same position as last night.

"Are you alright?" I question while noticing her even paler looking face and frail looking body.

"Fine, just tired. Why don't you go open shop by yourself?" She reassured me while smiling slightly. I nodded silently and crept out of the doorway and back outside.

~

"Aunties spent the whole day in bed!" I thought to myself. "She is definitely ill!" Honestly most would be worried but I was relieved. I know I shouldn't think so but I hate my aunt. Which made me feel sick to my stomach. I hated myself for thinking this but...

"I wish she was dead,"
