Harvey

"Can you believe it's Monday already?" Mike, my associate strut his way into my office.

"Donna," I called out to my secretary, "what the hell is your job good for if you're just letting people walk in here whenever they like?"

Donna didn't even bother to look at me, but I could tell she was holding in a laugh.
I sighed, taking a sip from my coffee, "what do you want Mike?"

"I just came in here to say hello," he raised both of his hands in surrender.

"Hello. Now get out," I motioned him to the door.

"Hey, what's going on with you man? Did you have a shitty weekend?"

"Quite the opposite actually," Drew popped up by my door, leaning against it. "We took a group to Pink Kitty's Lounge, and our man Harvey here scored with a stripper."

"No way," Mike approached my desk, attempting to give me a high five, which I declined with a blank expression. "...or not."

"I didn't score it with any stripper. Now I want the both of you to get the hell out of my office," I raised my voice.

"Hey, Harvey?"

"Jesus Christ! What?!" I spat but immediately bit my tongue as I realized I had just yelled at Jessica, managing partner, a.k.a my boss.

"Mike, Drew, get to work." Jessica ushered them out and then walked up to my desk. "Now Harvey, I'm going to let that slide, but only if you tell me what the hell is going on with you."

"I just had a long weekend, okay?"

"What happened?" She took a seat in front of me.

"I..."  I remembered seeing that gorgeous woman dance on stage with a delicateness I had never seen a stripper possess. I had upset her, of course not meaning to, but made a dick out of myself anyway. "Just... don't worry about it. I'll be fine. What do you need?"

Jessica studied me for a moment before speaking, "...I have a case for you." She pulled out a file and laid it on my desk. "A murder trial."

"Huh," I skimmed through the documents, "dead woman, ex-husband. Shares in company. Seems easy enough."

"Except it isn't," she deadpanned.

"Jessica..." I warned.

"Our client is the ex-husband," she finished.

"Of course it fucking is," I rolled my eyes. "Forget it, I'm not getting involved in this. Why don't you ask Louis, I'm sure he'd be all over this shit."

"Louis would be all over what?" Louis popped his head in.

"Get out!" Jessica and I said in unison.

"That's it, im firing Donna." I got up.

"No you're not." She said over the intercom.

I sat back down. God I hate that woman.

"Harvey I asked you, because I want you on this case."

I sighed.

"You know I wouldn't even come to you with this if I thought he was guilty."

"I know...I know..."

"So you'll help me?" Jessica raised a brow.

"Leave the file here," I mumbled.

Jessica stood up and smiled, "and this is why you're my favorite pretty little white boy."

"Uh definitely not little, but whatever," I rolled my eyes, "now get out so I can read this."

She gave me a pointed look.

"Please," I added, cheesing a grin.

She nodded and made her way out the door
