Harvey

I don't know what had come over me, but as soon as I had pictured Lorai with Mr. Wright, my body became stiff. The next thing I knew, her ass was tightly grasped in my hand and my tongue was deep down in her throat. God her ass was plump. It fit so nicely in my hand.

It took everything in me to push away from her.

I quickly walked off, back towards the direction of the cafe to catch Rebecca standing right outside of it. "Harvey?" she raised a brow, "what the hell was that?"

"Listen Rebecca," I sighed, "you can't say a damn thing to that woman."

She shook her head, pressing her lips together. "I'm tired of all this."

"What do you mean?" I eyed her carefully.

"Harvey you know as well as I do that, that bastard had something to do with..." she swallowed hard, "...with Sofia's death."

"Rebecca..." I warned.

"No, Harvey. I'm done." She pushed past me.

I quickly followed beside her, "Rebecca, the only way your company stays afloat is if you stick by your husband."

She let out an amused sigh, "Oh, that man hasn't been my husband for the past twenty years. So the only thing I'd refer to him as... is my parasite."

I walked in front of her, stopping us both. "And I wouldn't disagree with you, but your company—"

"I DONT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE COMPANY," she pushed me, "it's taken EVERYTHING from me. My marriage, my friends, my family... m-my daughters." Tears welled up in her eyes. She wiped her nose, "Mr. Specter I know you don't know what's it's like to be married... or have children, but when you lose those things there's absolutely nothing that can fill in that void," she took in a deep breath, "so our company could burn up in flames for all I care."

I was silent for a moment. "I grew up in a home where the majority of my parents marriage was a lie... and yet there are days where I want nothing more than to go back home and be together with everyone again..." I sighed, "so no, I might not be married, or have children, but I understand that void your talking about... and I also understand that sometimes shit just is the way it is and there's nothing you can do to go back." I looked away from her, "so any idea that you have of your life going back to normal is gone... so the least you can do is protect the only thing you have, and the least I can do is protect you. So let me fight for you." I grew irritated.

Rebecca sucked in her cheek, shaking her head

Rebecca sucked in her cheek, shaking her head. "You're wrong, Mr. Specter. I might never get the life I want back, but I sure as hell am not going to dig deeper into the grave I've made for myself. Erika... she's—I've hurt her beyond words can describe... so the least I can do... is protect her."

"Rebecca—"

"Enough!" She raised her hand to keep me from speaking, "the only reason you're insisting on this is because your firm is three seconds away from fucking drowning. You don't give a damn about any of us..." She pushed past me and fled down the street.
