{{Yeah, I'm sure the title came as a real shock to all of you... 😂 I'll try to think up more creative ones in the future lol}} {{Also btw I forgot to put this in the intro but if I use these- {{}} -whatever's in the middle is not an actual part of the story. It's just me saying something (Probably something random and unrelated that I thought was funny at the moment) to y'all 😁}}

   "So don't forget to turn in your book reports, they're due on Friday," Mrs. Lanchester said, putting the textbook back in its place on the shelf. "I'm really looking forward to seeing these. It's always so interesting to see what y'all put year after year, especially since you got to choose your own story." She sat down in her seat and looked out over the class. It was a big one this year, and she knew the middle school next year was going to be flooded with students from all the different elementary schools in the area. It was almost the end of the year, and she was glad that her students were putting in the effort they needed to to finish the year strong. Even the kids who were normally goofing off seemed to have sobered up for the last few weeks. Of course, that didn't stop them from having fun. All of the students and teachers were excited for the end of the year carnival coming up soon. Mrs. Lanchester sighed. If they could get through the end of the year without any unnecessary drama, she would be happy. Just then, the bell rang.

    "Class is dismissed!" she yelled over the commotion. "And don't forget your reports!!!"

     Sophie Peregrine looked up from her desk as the bell rang. She tucked her shiny black hair behind her ears as she stood, straightening her skort {{OH YEAH 😂}} and adjusting her t-shirt. In the flurry of action that ensued, she could hardly get all her belongings together without things getting thrown or knocked from her hands. She sighed. I'm so glad it's almost summer break. I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. Just then, her two best friends, Annabelle Leon and Rory Sadler, walked over to her. Annabelle had long brown hair, and had an air of gloom around her. Rory was the opposite, with shoulder length, bright red hair {{GINGER}} and an ever present fire in her heart. {{dramatic I know lol 😅}} Annabelle and Rory had been her friends since before they were in elementary. Sophie was glad to have them, because she wasn't the kind of person to stick up for herself. They had always been there. Of course she had other friends too, but none of them were as close as Annabelle and Rory were. She grinned, remembering the first time they had met. They had only been little when they first met, probably only four or five. Sophie had been swinging on a swing at the local playground when Annabelle sat down on the swing next to her. She didn't move, just sat there, looking at the ground. Sophie had gotten off her swing and stood closer to Annabelle.

    "Why aren't you swinging?" She asked, taking in Annabelle's dark clothes.

    "I don't want to," Annabelle replied, kicking out her legs. Just then, a blur raced up to the two and pushed Annabelle high into the air.

     "Well you're on a swing, aren't you? That's the whole point!" Rory screamed as she used all her five year old might to push Annabelle as high as she could into the air. Annabelle hollered for them to let her off, and Sophie obliged.

     "What'd you do that for?" Annabelle scowled.

     "Because," Rory laughed hard, her hands pressed to her sparkly, sequined shirt. "It was too hard to resist." After a while, Sophie joined in the laugher, and so did Annabelle. They'd been best friends ever since.

     "Hey," Rory said, flicking Sophie on the forehead. Sophie sat up, the brief trance she had been in broken. "Why are you sitting there like that? You look like you're pondering the mysteries of the universe or something." Rory spread her hands high above her head as she spoke, indicating the aforementioned mysteries. Annabelle sighed.

     "You're always doing things like this, Sophie. You really aught to pay more attention to your surroundings. One of these days, you're gonna end up in trouble for it." Sophie laughed.

     "Sorry guys, just reminiscing about when we first met. I can't believe that it was almost seven years ago!" Rory laughed.

     "You're such a dork!" She grinned. "Well, I'm glad you're thinking of us, at least." Annabelle nodded.

     "Despite your oddities, I'm glad to have a friend like you," she said as she clutched her dark brown bag, covered with lacquer pins from various horror games.

     "Her oddities?" Rory questioned, amused. "Oh, forget it. We're all weirdos. That's why we get along so well!" Rory put her arms around Sophie and Annabelle as they walked out of the door of the classroom, smiling.
