Today was the day...

I packed the baby's things in the go bag and got in the car, strapping my child in behind me.

"C'mon baby. You're going to meet your daddy." I smiled through the rear-view mirror.

I drove the hour's journey to the prison and signed in.

The wait was 20 minutes long before I caught site of him.

His hair was a pretty gross color because he hadn't been able to dye it in four years but I didn't care. He was out and once again, he was mine.

As soon as he was out of the handcuffs, I ran to him and he hugged the two of us for about two minutes.

"You have no idea how happy I am to see you." Gerard breathed against my forehead before kissing it.

"Oh believe me, I do. I promised you that day that I'd wait for you. I meant it and I fucking kept it." I replied.

"Yeah you did." He smiled. "I love you."

"I love you too." I grinned, kissing his lips more passionately than ever.

He turned to our baby and smiled even wider.

"You're even more beautiful than your mommy described in her letters." He cooed.

"Dada?" The little voice asked me.

"Yes baby. This is your daddy." I replied, bobbing the tiny human on my hip.

"Dada." The baby repeated, holding out small, chubby arms to him.

He picked the child out of my hands and held on tightly in a hug.

"Last time I saw you, you were a tiny bump. Now you just look like mischief on legs." He chuckled.

"Only little bit." The baby giggled.

Gerard smiled softly and kissed our baby's soft forehead.

"I love you Beth." He whispered.
