I walked into the campus in a daze. I didn't want it to seem obvious to people that I was not in a good mood so I smiled automatically whenever I heard someone call my name. I visited Tom yesterday at his workplace, the place where I had met him the first time, but I didn't see him. The secretary had said that he wasn't around but I could tell that she was hiding something. She kept avoiding my glance and when I wasn't looking at her, she gave me looks like she was hesitating to tell me something. I sighed deeply and walked into the lecture hall, smiling at Ali as she signaled for me to come close to her.
Thankfully, I was a bit early as the lecturer wasn't yet in the class when I entered but as soon as I sat down, he came into the class. "Ohhh.. You're lucky today," Laura whispered, smiling at me.nI smiled back at her, my cheeks already hurting from the forced smile I kept on giving her. I didn't want to let her know that I
wasn't in the mood for anything and that I was dead worried about someone I just met a week ago. She noticed my look and raised her eyebrows in confusion. "Are you okay? You seem tired." "Im cool, really. Just didn't get enough sleep last night." "Oh..I see. Sorry about that."
"Yeah. thanks." I sighed again and leaned my back against my seat as the lecturer started teaching.

Halfway through the class, I already knew that I was doomed. I couldn't pay attention and was not aware of what he was saying. I kept on being worried about Tom and wondering if he was avoiding me on purpose, if he no longer wanted anything to do with me. The sound of my phone ringing shook me out if my thoughts and I immediately reduced the sound as the entire class, including my lecturer, was staring at me. I glanced at the caller ID, hoping it would be Tom but when I saw that it was my Mom, I was
surprised. Why would she be calling? Was she okay? Does she want something? I was worried but I ignored the call. It might be that she just wanted to know how I was doing,
after all I made sure that everything she needed was right next to her. She kept on calling me but I ignored it, I didn't want to take an excuse to leave the class and then find out that it was only something she wants. After some time, the calls stopped and then I received a text message from her telling me that I had some visitors.
I frowned my face. "Visitors? Don't open the door for anyone, I would soon be back," I texted back.
"Okay, I'll be waiting," The text message that came almost immediately, read. I nodded my head at the message and was just about to lean fully in my seat when I realized it. Mom doesn't read and she
definitely cannot write! I gasped and sat back up, shaking my legs in worry. How was she able to send those messages? Who was with her?

I really hope that it was Tom, otherwise...I shook my head, trying to convince myself that it can only be Tom, no one else. I kept in shaking my legs anxiously, waiting for the lecturer
to leave the class and at the same time, praying that it was Tom that was sending those text messages. As soon as the man walked out of the class, I hurriedly grabbed my bag and rushed out, ignoring Laura's call to wait for her. I was really worried. 'Not mom,
please. Nothing should happen to her, I kept on saying to myself as I boarded a bus going home. While on the bus, I brought out my phone and tried to call her but she ended the call which made me more worried. As soon as I got to my bus stop, I rushed out of the bus and ran to my apartment, breathing heavily as I burst the door open. The wave of relief that pass through me when I saw Mom in the bedroom was huge. I sighed softly and walked to her.

"Mom..who was texting me with your phone? What visitors came here?" I asked, still breathing heavily. "They just left. A man and two other people, I didn't see their faces. They dropped their address though. They said they were your friends and that you were
expecting them that was why I opened the door," Mom said, pointing at the paper on the dining table. I shook my head at her and grabbed the paper with then address and their phone number. I quickly brought out my phone and called them. "Hello, Jolie," A man's voice said. "Hello?"
"Are you doing fine?" He asked. "Who are you? What do you want with me?"
"Look outside, you'll see someone. If you have any questions, follow him,"He said and hung up. I peeped through the window and saw a man waving. I turned to Mom and warned her not to open the door for anyone and walked out. I walked up to the man who started smiling as soon as he saw me and asked me to follow him, to which I refused. I was definitely not going anywhere with a stranger I barely knew , not especially if he was creeping me out with his smile. "If you don't go with me, I'll take your Mother. I'm sure Tom wouldn't want her," He smirked.
How on earth does he know Tom?

I felt strange and was about to run to the house and lock the door when he grabbed me and dragged me back.nI kept on struggling to free myself but it was no help. I was too slim and would be considered a piece of cake to him. His grips were too tight. I suddenly regretted going on a diet and having a body like mine. "Please let me go. My Mom...my Mom can't do anything by herself," I pleaded when I realized I can't escape. He ignored me and kept dragging me towards his car which made me scream loudly but he quickly closed my mouth with his hands. I finally relaxed. There was
nothing I could do. He was going to take me to only God knows where and I wouldn't be able to do anything.
"Tom would come and save me," I said half to myself and also to him as he finally removed his hands from my mouth. "Yes, I'm sure he would. I hope he does, I want him to," The man said
and smirked.
