"We're staying here for an entire week?"

You exclaim in excitement, examining the luxurious chalet that, with its ornate furnishings, exudes the ambiance of a magnificent palace.

"Yes, it's marvelous, isn't it?" Celeste confirms, smiling at your enthusiasm.

Achilles, her beloved husband, commands the attendant guards to retrieve your suitcases and escort you to your quarters.

"It's more than marvelous," you repeat, still mesmerized by the grandeur of the estate.

"I only treat special people to this place,"

Achilles declares, wrapping his arms around your shoulders and hugging you from behind.

His chin rests on your head, leaving you with a fake sense of warmth and safety.

"I assume the servants are included?" you state, eliciting an eye roll from the ever-serious vampire.

"Of course, but they only serve us" he replies, chuckling.

"Only those whom I consider to be true family are granted access to my luxurious residence."

Those words should make you feel guilty for what you are going to do to Achilles.

But you remember how he never felt guilty when he threw you in the water to punish and scare you.

"I think our sweet (Y/n) is tired from the trip, and needs rest"

Celeste announces, after noticing your unfocused attention.

Achilles releases you, turning you around to verify whether you are indeed fatigued or not.

"She looks fine to me, but I guess humans are weak and get exhausted easily" he states with disgust.

"I'm not tired, I was just thinking about how I will...spend the vacation time"

Achilles ignores your hesitant sentence, but Celeste catches on.

"Well, I was thinking we all could go swimming"

Your eyes narrow in disbelief at his words, while your mother shook her head in disappointment.

"I thought you already knew that I cannot swim," you point out.

“I do, and I intend to teach you how to swim so that there won't be any future drowning accidents," he retorts in a calm but authoritative tone.

"I don't want to learn swimming" you speak out your thoughts.

"Well, I do not care about what you want, it's an essential thing for survival..."

Noticing how troubled you look, Achilles stops speaking.

"I apologise for causing you trauma, the way I punished you was unacceptable"

You and Celeste's eyes widen in shock...Achilles is not the type to apologise for his mistakes.

So, it is truly surprising to see him give a sincere apology.

"I will think about it" you say, before rushing upstairs to search for your new room.

Why are you starting to feel guilty for what you are going to do to your monster of an adoptive father?

Little do you know, Achilles is testing you.

He already knows about the acid you will use on him to escape.

The true test is will you actually harm him after he showed the kinder version of himself.
