I feel like I shouldn't say this, but I don't like Rise's Leo as the leader. I know he's the leader in all of the variants, but I quite liked Raph as the leader.
With Raph, it makes sense. He's the oldest and the strongest, both physically and mentally. He's a natural leader in Rise, he's headstrong and confident, but not egotistic like Leo is. He cares about his brothers (I know Leo does too), and he would do almost anything to make sure they're safe. He wants to protect his family and even people he doesn't know. He has a soft spot and stuffed animals and isn't ashamed of who he is. He listens to his team and values their input most of the time.
With Leo, to me, it doesn't make sense. It doesn't feel like he truly earned the position and the writers gave it to him because they know that Leo's the leader in the other shows and in the movies. He's impulsive and doesn't realize when his actions hurt others until later. He does care about his brothers, but he doesn't treat them with respect as much as Raph does (especially my boy Donnie). He doesn't really listen to them most of the time. If they wanted to make him the leader, they should've done it at the end of the movie cause I feel like he's more ready for that position at the end of the movie.
Don't hate me for this, but I don't think they should've made Leo at the end of season two. I genuinely wish we got more of the show and that it wasn't cancelled. They left it so open ended that it feels wrong that it wasn't continued. Don't get me wrong, I'm really excited for Mutant Mayhem, but I wish Rise lasted longer.
