That night Sunwoo lies awake unable to sleep. His mind kept whirling about everything that had been bothering him. He couldn't figure out why people didn't like him or the fact that he has always been someone else's punching bag. The best of times in his life were when his parents were alive before the accident took their lives away. After that everything seemed to go downhill, but he couldn't figure out why. He has never harmed anybody yet, people still liked to hurt him. Sunwoo sighes heavily before picking up his phone. As his eyes adjusted to the bright light, did he see the time. It was just shy of one in the morning. Yet, he could not sleep. There was no denying that sleep wouldn't find him tonight. After the nightmare and what Kevin had said, sleep was nearly impossible. Sunwoo locks his phone and reaches for his crutches that were propped up by the wall. He slips them under his arms and slowly hobbles along before opening the door. Once the door was open Sunwoo peered his head out and noticed that everyone was asleep. The house was completely silent.
Sunwoo reaches into the cabinet and retrieves a tea packet. It was the only thing that might help him sleep, despite he had to get up soon and prepare for school. He boiled the water waiting for the tea to be ready.
He was patiently waiting scrolling through his phone when something caught his eye. He had a message from an unknown number. Sunwoo opened the message to only discover a link to a video. He clicked on the link as the video began to play.
The video started out in the empty auditorium as darkness surrounded the stage. Very faintly Sunwoo could make out a figure slumped over on the floor. His hands began to tremble as he realizes that it was him. Su-Jin's voice could be heard as one of his friends films the video. The video was becoming more grainy looking as it lagged some. Just as Sunwoo was about to be touched by Su-Jin the video went black. "What? What is this?" He asks shocked staring at the blank screen.
Sunwoo's hands trembled as he had come to realize that someone had posted this online. Now everyone was going to see this. Anger rushed over him. He would confront Su-Jin later and try to get the video taken down. That is if he can protect himself first.
Sunwoo poured the hot tea into a cup, but some splashed out burning his hand, instantly Suwnoo drops his crutch cradling his hand. A red spot began to surface above the skin becoming raised. He hisses under his breath biting on his lower lip.
Sunwoo was startled when he heard someone behind him. He turns around to be met with Kevin who was standing in the doorway. Sunwoo watches as Kevin saunters over before grabbing onto his arm and guiding him towards the sink. Confused Sunwoo watched as Kevin turns on the water. Kevin grabs his wrist before putting Sunwoo's hand under the water. Sunwoo hisses in pain as the water came in contact with his burned hand. "You should be more careful next time". Kevin whispers taking Sunwoo by surprise. Where was this kindness coming from?
"Now you decide to care all of a sudden? One minute you act kind towards me then the next you dislike me. I don't understand why you dislike me so much. I haven't done anything wrong to you. Yet, you treat me horribly sometimes. I would rather you tell me you dislike me to my face than to hear you say it behind my back". Sunwoo snapped feeling frustrated. He was tired of always guessing his cousins mood. Kevin looks at him with surprise? "You heard that? Were you listening in on my phone call?" He asked anger dripping into his tone.
"You're right I do dislike you for a reason but I can't say yet. In order to understand me, you have to know how I feel. But I can't tell you since your memory is still gone of that day. You won't understand my pain, until you remember. You have to figure it out on your own. You may fool others with not remembering everything, but you won't fool me. Deep down I know you know something. You said so yourself that fragments of memories are returning to you. So it means you remember something. Don't hide it from others. What do you remember that day of the accident? I only tolerate you when in front of my mom so I don't upset her".
