Chapter Thirteen: Two Worlds Clashing Together

Sangyeon felt a hot burning sensation in his side as he realizes that he has been hit. Both Sunwoo and Sangyeon fall to the ground. Sunwoo struggles to stand up as he felt dizzy. "Sunwoo are you hurt?" Sangyeon asks as he is still on the ground. "No, I'm not hurt. Who is that guy?" Sunwoo asks as he looks behind them. Sangyeon still on the ground winces in pain. "Good. I'm sorry I got you into this mess. I will explain later, but I have to get you out of here first".

Sunwoo upon realizing that Sangyeon was struggling to get up, holds out his hand for him. Sangyeon looks at his hand before taking it. As he eases himself up, he feels a warm substance soaking his shirt. He curses under his breath as he sees the blood seeping through. Sangyeon applies pressure to his wound wincing as the pain comes in waves. Blood oozes between his fingers at a rapid rate. "Backup should be here soon. Come on we have to get  to the safe haven first before he does. There he can't touch you". Sangyeon explains as they take off again.

Both of them struggled to keep on their feet as fatigue was starting to take over. Sangyeon glances behind them noticing that Huynjae was taking a shortcut to cut them off. Sangyeon grabs a hold of Sunwoo's wrist before pulling him in an opposite direction.

"Come on this way, it's a shortcut to the safe haven. If we beat him there, he can't cross our territory". Sangyeon explains. He hoped that he could beat Hyunjae to the safe haven before he collapses. His energy core was draining quicker than he had anticipated. The more blood loss he loses the more his energy core is compromised.

Hyunjae releases one of his energy beams narrowly missing Sunwoo. Sunwoo ducked as the bark from the tree exploded. He feared for his life and what may happen to him if he can't be saved. He had to put his trust and life into someone else's hands as they fought to live. Sunwoo glances behind him seeing the figure getting closer. He could tell that these people were draining his energy. But he couldn't tell who was his savior and who was his killer.

Up ahead Sangyeon could see their territory line glowing in the distance. "Hang in there a bit longer. I will get you out of here by giving us more time". Sangyeon explains as he releases an energy beam, but misses his target. He goes to release another energy beam, but shortly after releasing it, it fizzles out. Sangyeon now realizes that his powers are gone.

Sunwoo could feel his strength weakening as the individuals were stealing off his energy. But he knew that if he didn't fight, he would lose this battle. As his vision began to deteriorate, Sunwoo could see the white shadowy figure reaching out for his hand. By now they had crossed the territory line which the world around them was casted in a golden color. Sunwoo reached for his hand just as Sangyeon let's go.

"Hey, kid take care of Sunwoo. I will be back soon to get you after I battle Hyunjae. Right now I have to handle him. Keep Sunwoo safe". Sangyeon explained to the newbie. The white shadowy figure shook his head in frustration. "But you're hurt, you need to heal. You can't fight him, he is much more powerful than you. Please come with us. The territory should be protected by the others. Besides I can't protect Sunwoo on my own. I have so much to learn from you". The figure tried to keep his mentor safe. Sangyeon sighed trying to hold off Hyunjae with his shield.

"Listen kid, if I don't make it back, Sunwoo is your responsibility. I have faith in you that you can protect Sunwoo. But heed my advice this is important. Don't trust no one, but yourself. There are others like us who like to trick you. Protect Sunwoo at all costs and fulfill your mission. Go, I'll hold him off". Sangyeon spoke sendings them off. The white shadowy figure just shook his head knowing what he was going to do. "I can't leave you here". The figure felt conflicted as to who to save.

"Backup is too far away. You both need to get to safety. I can't hold him much longer. Hurry go". Sangyeon yelled as his shield was starting to crack. The white shadowy figure glances between the two before taking off with Sunwoo. His heart broke leaving his mentor behind. But Sunwoo's life was at risk.

"What's happening? Why is someone after me?" Sunwoo asks dumbfounded. The figure remains quiet as they jog around the clearing. "Please answer me. I need answers because I am going crazy. No one will tell me anything". Sunwoo begged. He was tired of being left in the dark.

The white shadowy figure stops running and glances at Sunwoo. "Hyunjae is a grim reaper and he is after you. Both myself and Sangyeon are protecting you from him. Hyunjae has recently been watching you since your time on earth is nearing to a close. But it isn't your time to leave yet. Sangyeon and myself have been preventing him from intervening and ending your life. You have avoided death many times and Hyunjae isn't pleased. But like I said it's not your time yet. You still have to fulfill our deal and figure out who the culprit is. Besides Hyunjae can't touch you here. He doesn't have the special abilities to enter this territory. If he does it will kill him instantly. I need you to trust me Sunwoo. I will keep you safe". The white shadowy figure revealed everything that he knew.

Sunwoo didn't know what to think nor say. Everything was such a shock let alone believable to him. "Wait, you're saying that guy is a grim reaper? And that he wants to take my life. Those don't exist only in movies and books. You expect me to believe that? Why is someone after me, I am a nobody". Sunwoo was not believing any of what this guy was saying.

"Then let me explain this to you. After the accident I woke up in a strange room not knowing anyone nor who I was or where I was at. I was left all alone in this gray room with no visitors, just myself. Little did I know that I was being observed and tested, like an experiment. Finally after who knows how long someone enters the room and tells me what happened. Well bits and pieces of it. They gave me these powers that I don't know much about. And I was trained to help other cases pass into heaven. People after people, I sent to heaven after I helped them fulfill there mission, I only have one special case. That's you Sunwoo. You're my key to heaven and the answer to everything. You're the only person who can see me. Out of our friend group, you're the only person who can see me, while others can't. But I can't go to heaven until you figure out what happened to me. Until you can remember what happened, I have to protect you from
Hyunjae. You seen me disappear into a cloud of white smoke. You can't deny seeing it".

Sunwoo knew that the white shadowy figure was right. There were things that he has seen lately that can't be explained. Yet, he seen it with his very eyes. But wasn't sure why his friend had such a big quest.

Sangyeon struggles to hold onto Hyunjae's shirt as they tumbled towards the ground. Sangyeon breaks free holding onto his side as the bleeding continues. "I told you I didn't want to have to fight you. You're not supposed to mess with Sunwoo either. I warned you not to touch him. But you didn't heed my warning". Sangyeon gasps for air as he felt his energy draining. Hyunjae glances down at Sangyeon as he is doubled over.

"And I told you I have permission to take his soul. My boss sent me the case file of Kim Sunwoo. His life is either going to end rather it's his own doing or by another. I just take his soul. You can't protect a person who is going to die anyway. His soul is going to wander around this earth if I don't collect it. It'll be another lost soul forgotten. Please don't make me keep fighting you. You know very well what I am capable of Sangyeon. You can't intervene anymore especially if it keeps making you weaker. That helper of yours is a weakling, I would hate for him to end up hurt. If something happens to him, Sunwoo can't fulfill his mission nor help his friend into heaven. Unless you can help Sunwoo avoid his fate and make a new destiny for him. But that is highly unlikely considering that he is running out of time. Don't forget that I know more information about Kim Sunwoo than you do". Hyunjae reveals.

Anger coursed through Sangyeon's veins as he listens to Hyunjae speak. Sangyeon brings his hand back and punches Hyunjae in the cheek. Hyunjae loses his footing and stumbles towards the ground. He looks up at Sangyeon surprised that he got punched. He wipes the blood from his cheek before smirking. "I hit a nerve didn't I?" He smirks.

"You can threaten me, but you don't threaten Sunwoo or the kid. I don't care about the rules. You have to go through me first before you get to them. Don't you dare touch them". Sangyeon threatens towering above Hyunjae.
