☆Chapter Seven ☆

"Do you think Jeremy is gonna be there? Or what about Phoenix, Alexander and the rest of Jeremy's group. What if they're there?!" I whisper shouted in Lilli's ear while we approached the house. She was silent for a bit and didn't say anything until after she knocked on the door, wow it sounds so loud from out here. "Listen Lacey, they do anything as far as even look at you the wrong way, they'll have me to deal with. Do you think Jeremy wants to go through me again? I don't think so" with that the door flew open and some random girl was stood between the frame. She looked about two years older than us.

"You three here for the party?", three? But it's only me and Lilli? So I thought. I raised my eyebrow at Lil and looked over my shoulder to see- shit. Why the fuck is Phoenix here? I had no idea how long he'd been stood there, he might have even heard me taking about him and the others! I looked down and he held a pack of beers. Even weirder yet, why is he by himself? Shit is Jeremy coming?!? Or maybe he's inside! With me asking myself all these questions I must have been looking at Phoenix a little longer than I thought, so in return he flashed me a sort of devilish sort smile. What did that mean?

I quickly pulled my attention to be facing the door again as Lilli just nodded her head at the girl in front of us. She dropped her arm down by her side, gesturing for us to go inside.

Wow. A lot more people here than I thought, could be nice to socialise? " Lacey, Lilli! So glad your here" I feel an arm get thrown around my shoulder, I looked up to see Brooke smiling down at me and Lilli. "Hey Brooke! Didn't know you was coming to this, you should've said you could've stayed over mine! Well you still can if your up to it?" Lilli spoke enthusiastically, "Wouldn't miss it" Brooke smiled.

"Hey L dog you seem pretty quiet, what's bothering you?" Brooke poked my shoulder, I laughed at her calling me 'L dog' before replying "oh it's nothing I just think Jeremy and his little group of friends are gonna be here and I'm just worried if he sees me and tries pulling something again" I said looking down at my feet. She replied "Why what makes you think he's gonna be here?", "well for a start most of our grade is here, second, I saw Phoenix, he was waiting behind us while me and Lil were waiting to be let in". Brooke looked up at Lilli "well I'm sure me and Lilli are not gonna let him near you, don't worry about it!" I smiled at her, I guess she's right I need to just chill out and relax, this is meant to be fun after all.

I walked away from them after I told them I was gonna go get us drinks, now uh where to look? Wow I really need to go to parties more often. About 10 minute go by, it's gonna be impossible to find the drinks stand with all these fucking people here!! I could feel myself getting frustrated, "ugh this is pointless" I whispered to myself before swinging back around and bumping into someone, knocking their drink down me. I looked down in shock, "Ah shit!" I heard from above me and looked up. Great just my luck, Cole fucking Johnson. Of course I had to make a fool out of myself!!

Before I could let any words leave my mouth, Cole spoke up, "fuck" he whispered under his breath. "I'm so sorry are you okay?? I didn't see you!!" Cole exclaimed. I laughed nervously, my cheeks heating up from embarrassment. "ha- yeah it's fine don't worry about it, I should've watched where I was going. I just hope this dress doesn't get ruined" I said in a worried tone looking down at the spill. "Um either way you uh-" he stuttered before for trying again "you look great, that dress rally suits you. It brings out your pretty eyes" he stopped and looked down after realising what he had just said to me. My face turning a bright red, I went to speak before he beat me to it again "Well uh- if you want we can go somewhere private?" he paused and looked nervous, what was he tryna say? "you know to help you clean up-" oh yeah, right. I could tell he was going to speak more but was interrupted by his friend Melanie who had snuck up on him. "HEYY CEE HOPE YOU DIDN'T MISS ME TOO MUCH" she said throwing her arms around his shoulders and got VERY close to him, the fuck is this? They're just friends right? RIGHT?

"Melanie not right now, your drunk" he mumbled to her while trying to take her arms off his shoulders but gently, thinking I couldn't hear him. She noticed me and her smile switched to a demonic frown in seconds, she gave me a sort of 'touch him and your dead' sort of look before smiling again to reply to Cole "IM NOT DRUNK COLEYYYY COME ONNN DANCE WITH ME" she shouted as loud as she could over the music. Cole didn't have time to react as she forced his arms around her waist and pulled him into the dance floor, leaving me by myself in a wet, most likely stained dress and jacket.

SHIT! How could I be so stupid!! Did I actually think we had something between us? How fucking delusional could I be? I walked as quick as I could into the back garden, running almost. I just had to get away from all these people. I felt a surge of relief pass over me as I sat down on the step outside, surprised there's no one making out, out here. I felt tears to build up under my eye lids, I looked down "don't cry, don't cry, don't cry, don't cry..." I whispered to myself repeatedly hoping no one would come outside. The urge to cry slowly went away, with practice I guess. Seems like it's gonna be a long night.
