When I woke up, I was surrounded by the VKs. I couldn't remember falling asleep and I felt like I was missing something but all I knew was I was happy to be lying in the middle of the four. "Good morning Bri," Mal's voice said in my left ear, "Slept well?"

"Mhm," I responded snuggling into Carlos' chest. I felt warm as Mal shifted behind me. "E went to get breakfast, do you remember anything about yesterday?" she asked patting my head.

"Nope," I said with a shake of the head.

"Do you... Know who Mrs. Potts is?" she asked nervously.

"Who?" I said raising my eyebrow in confusion, "Are you talking about my old nanny?"

She sighed in relief as she responded to me, "Yeah, she passed away yesterday." I felt her tense up as I contemplated for a second. Why was she telling me this? Yes, it was sad but I wasn't close to the woman. "Oh. How is her family dealing with it?" I asked sympathetically.

"Her son passed away as well," she informed with a sigh. I nod and begin playing with Carlos' hair. "That's sad," I say shaking my head, "But on a better note. I talked to all the royals and we're going to start sending fresh food over to the Isle and try cleaning the waters and bettering the quality of air."

"That's great Bri," she says excitedly as the others shift slightly at her volume. I shake my head in amusement and attempt to get up from Carlos and Jay's hold yet the two just tightened their arms around me. "A little help? I have a press conference and I need to help sort out funeral arrangements for Mrs. Potts since the others won't have time," I inform, smiling uncomfortably. She nodded and helped me release myself from their holds.

As I walk into the bathroom, my head starts to hurt and I suddenly feel very sad. I begin sobbing harshly as I fall to the floor and a wave of grief overtakes me. "Bri!" I heard Mal and Jay's voices and footsteps coming towards me. Suddenly all the emotions I just felt, went away and I couldn't remember why I was crying or why I was on the floor. "What happened?" Evie asked as they helped me up.

"I don't have a clue. My head just started hurting and next thing y'know I'm on the floor and my face is wet," I say with a laugh, not noticing them looking at each other with concerned looks.

"You ok now?" Carlos asks quietly.

"Yep. Now out. I need to shower and so do you guys," I said rolling my eyes.

"I'll stay with you in case something happens again," Mal said as the others walked out of the room grumbling. I shrugged and turned on the shower. I took a quick shower and wrapped myself in a fluffy white towel. When I walked out Mal was sitting at the door of the bathroom. "What are you doing down there?" I ask playfully as she gets up.

"Nothing, I just didn't wanna move too far in case of something," she said with a smile. I nodded apprehensively but walked to my closet. Since I had a press conference to do later on, I decided on a simple but elegant dress.

When I walked out, Mal turned and looked at me in confusion. "Why not something purple?" she asked tilting her head.

"Why would I wear something purple when my royal colors are yellow and blue?" I ask laughing.

"Cause it's your favorite color?" She says phrasing it like a question.

"No, it isn't. My favorite color is yellow," I said in confusion. I thought I had told them this when we had a conversation the other day. "Didn't you say it- Oh never mind. I misheard then," she says making me laugh softly and pat her shoulder.

"It's fine. We all mishear something at one point," I say shaking my head. The others walked in and she walked briskly over to them. She murmured something to them before walking back over to me. "Is it ok if I shadow you for the day? I just want to understand how all of this works if I ever want to rule the moors," she asks and I nod.

"Sure but when I do my conference this afternoon, you can't be too close to me or your looks will distract them," I joke and they laugh as the first bell rings, "Off to class you go. Shoo." They groan as they all disappear except Mal. I shake my head, walk to my office, and pick up some documents. Mal and I walk out side by side and I notice everyone giving me sympathetic looks as we walk down the halls.

I was confused by the looks and I was even more confused when someone came up to me to wish me their condolences. Mal just said to ignore them as we walked to my father's office. I knocked and entered when he said I could. "Good morning, Your Majesty. I brought the documents for the transfers and the documents for the 'charity'," I said putting air quotes around the word 'charity'. He seemed to be in shock as he saw me standing before him and I wondered why.

"Brielle, you should be resting. I know this is a hard time for you," he said, confusing me.

"What are you talking about? What's going on? Everyone is looking at me like I just went through hell," I joke as he stares at me in shock.

"You majesty, if I could," Mal said approaching him. He nodded and she walked up to him and began whispering. My eyebrow rose as I watched his face contort from shock to anger to relief to neutral. He nodded as Mal walked back to my side. "Sorry. Your mother is just so shaken up by Mrs. Potts' passing, I thought you would be too since she was your nanny," he said shaking his head.

"Ok," I said placing the documents on his desk and exiting the room, "Bye."  He nodded at me then at Mal and I shut the door on the way out. We walked to the cafeteria and I grabbed breakfast for everyone. "Hey, Markus!" I called out to one of the guards, "Give these bags to the VKs, please. You have their locations and their names are on the bags." He nodded and just walked off with the paper bags filled with foods I thought they would like.

Mal and I sat down and began eating. When we finished, I gave the staff in the back the dishes to clean and checked the time. I had a bit of time to waste before the press conference so I turned to Mal and asked her what she wanted to do. "I have something I wanted to try making for you," she said nervously.

I nodded and she led me to the potion room. "Here?" I asked skeptically.

"Yeah, there's a necklace I learned to make on the Isle that doesn't use a lot of magic so I wanted to try it," she said scratching the back of her neck before putting me to sit down in front of one of the cauldrons and walked to the cupboards. She grabbed some of the bottles after looking at the labels and brought them over. "Be aware that if you try something, I can and will protect myself," I said with a shrug as she looked back at me.

"I'm aware pretty girl," she said shaking her head. I smiled at the nickname as she began putting liquids into the cauldron. I tilted my head as I saw her put a strand of her hair in it. I heard a noise behind me and turned around. When I turned around, I noticed Mal holding her hand with a wince. Blood ran down her palm onto her forearm.

"What happened?" I said grabbing a towel from one of the tables.

"It's alright. I cut my hand on the knife over there. I didn't notice it and put my hand down on the table to wait for the potion to begin bubbling. Speaking of which," she said pointing at the bubbling cauldron. I watched with concerned eyes and she sighed. "It's fine, I'll heal it," she said passing her hand over the cut and it disappeared, "See. It's fine."

I nodded and watched as she took a piece of coal and put it in the cauldron. A blinding purple and green light shone through the room blinding the both of us.
