  • Dedicated to Peter

(I've just dedicated this book officially on June 4th, 2013. I really miss him right now because he's out of the country, so I decided to dedicate this to him today instead of on his birthday...)

(He's an amazing guy and I love him to death! I would lose my zeal for life if anything ever happened to him. Peter, I love you.) UPDATE: This book is dedicated to such a perfect past love, he made life pretty awesome, but he's not for me. :) Still friends :)

"Alright it's true. I'm in love with my best friend.” I sighed dramatically. “I know I shouldn't be, but seriously? What do you expect? He's the hottest guy in school, not to mention that he's sweet and he talks to me all the time." I said into the mirror.

No one else knew my dreadful little secret, thank God. If anyone knew, I think I’d just about die of embarrassment.

"Alexandra! Blake's here!" Mom called.

Oh, did I forget to tell you that he lives two blocks away from me? Sorry, it must have slipped my mind. I checked my hair and make-up in the mirror quickly.

"Perfect!" I said loud enough for China to hear. Oops!

"What is?" Someone asked from behind me, making me jump.

"Blake!” I squealed, twisting around. “You scared the living daylights outta me!" I screamed at him.

He was laughing to himself quietly, which made me angry. Lashing out I punched his arm.

"Ouch! You're so mean to your little puppy." Blake replied, rubbing his arm and pouting adorably. Ugh, I didn’t want to find it adorable, but I did. I hated myself for it.

I also hated myself for finding him calling himself puppy cute. He had always insisted that he was my ‘little puppy’, and made me call him it.

"Puppy, my foot." I muttered.

He chuckled. "You know, you didn't answer my question," He said.

"Question?" I asked, feigning innocence and hoping he wouldn't remember what the question was.

"Yeah, about something being perfect?" He said as he crossed his arms.

"Oh! Um… your timing was perfect!" I quickly came up with a feasible answer. I smiled slyly, congratulating myself on my fast thinking.

"Sure..." Blake trailed off, clearly not believing me at all.

He looked thoughtful for a second, before suddenly perking up. "Hey, you got everything you need?" He smiled, clearly excited.

Oh, I might have forgotten to mention one small, tiny little thing. I'm going to spend the night at his house. Fun, right? I hoped so.

"Uh, yeah just let me get my bag..." I trailed off and then started for my bathroom.

"Already got it, Lex." Blake said, holding up my bag.

"Aw, thanks." I said, attempting to grab it from his hands. He lifted it above his 6 foot tall body.

"Blake Aaron Somers! You give that back right now!" I yelled, jumping up to get it.

As soon as I jumped up, he grabbed my legs and held me there with one arm. "Blake! You let me down. NOW!" I screamed, squirming.

"Why?" He breathed, inches from my face.

I froze; his warm breath fanned my face. He did this a lot and it made me go crazy every time.

"Lex? Are you okay?" Blake asked through the fog.

I opened my eyes to see Blake's alarmed face.

"Blake?" I whispered. He stared at me intently.

"I don't feel so good." I groaned, putting my head on his shoulder. He was still holding me and my bag.

I heard a thump as my bag hit the floor. Blake protectively wrapped his arms around me.

That's all I remember before I blacked out.

I woke up to Blake’s face staring worriedly at me. I then realised I was lain on my bed, fully clothed, thank the Lord.

"Are you okay?" He whispered.

I sat up slowly, pain shooting through my head. "I think so. What happened?"

"I guess I picked you up too fast. I'm sorry," he gulped. He always got worried when something happened to me. He was just protective like that.

"No, I don't think that was it. Don't worry Blake, it wasn't your fault." I said.

I winced as I sat up. I held my head in my hands. Man, it hurt!

"I think I should get your mom," He said. He kissed his hand and then placed it on my head.  I shivered slightly. He started to walk away, but I stopped him.

"Blake," I said, standing up shakily, "she went to the grocery store, remember?"

I wobbled on my unsteady feet. He came back to me and steadied me, his face filled with worry.

"Are you going to be okay tonight?" He asked.

"Oh, yes. Definitely. I wouldn't miss it for the world." I said, grabbing my bag. I felt better already.

"Alright, Lex, but you better go easy tonight. I don't want anything to happen to you." He said, pushing a strand of my mussed up hair out of my face.

He grabbed my bag from me and put his arm around my waist, about to pick me up.

"Don't you dare, Blake Somers!" I yelled, running from the room and his wandering hands. He dropped my stuff and chased after me.

I ran down the stairs, Blake following eagerly. "Stop! Blake, stop!" I yelled.

He came up behind me and started tickling me non-stop. I snorted in laughter.

"I guess you're feeling better, then!”" He laughed, tickling me harder.

He stopped to breathe and I fell to the floor because I was laughing so hard.

"I think we should go now before it gets dark," I said, gaining my composure.

"You're probably right." He said as he helped me up and put his arm around me. Contentment filled me.
