Lexi
I ran to my room and slammed the door loudly. It's getting worse. I sat on my bed, tears threatening to come. I didn't care if my chlorine-entombed clothes ruined my bed, I just sat there. Hershey scratched at his cage door and whined. Pulling the wetsuit off of me, I went to the cage. Sticking my finger through the cage, I whispered "He's gonna find out." A hot tear slid down my face. He can't.

I sat on the edge of the pool, my feet dangling in the water. Is she sick? Why is she keeping secrets? especially from me? "Hey, Guys! I brought food!" Danny called. I heard him climb the ladder, but ignored him. "Where's Alex? Is she swimming underwater right now?" He said, arranging the food. A hot tear slid down my face. "No." I whispered. "Why are you crying?" He asked quietly. "I'm not, it's pool water." I mumbled. "Sure." He said, sarcastically. I heard him amble down the ladder. I sighed. "I need to find Lexi." I said aloud, more to myself than anyone else. I stood reluctantly. I heard her voice. She's trying to sound happy. I knew. "Yeah, but then what?" Danny asked her. "I don't know, maybe we could watch a movie?" She asked. "Ah, I don't have time. I have to be back by 8, remember?" He replied. She frowned. "Oh, yeah. Well, I guess a bike ride will have to do." She smiled again. She had taken her Wetsuit off and now wore gray shorts and a sweatshirt. Danny's phone rang. "I gotta get this, it's my Dad." He said, walking away. I looked at her. What's up? Nothing, Blake. Don't even ask. She gave me a glare as Danny came back. Danny sighed. "Alright, I can't go on a bike ride. Apparently, Coach has Basketball practice tonight and somehow I wasn't notified." He grimaced. "Another time?" He asked Lex. "Yeah, definitely!" She said in a much too peppy voice. She's trying too hard. "Yeah, so bye I guess." He noticed too. I laughed mentally. He gave me a curt nod and side-hugged Lexi. "Bye." She said, sugary sweetness dripping from her tongue. He kissed her cheek and jogged off. She turned back towards me, frowning instantly. "Lexi!" I groaned. "Come on." She said, walking past me. I grabbed her wrist. "Ouch, Blake!" She turned around quickly. I let go of her instantly. She rubbed her wrist and wiped a tear quickly from her eye. "What's wrong, Lex?" I whispered. "You hurt me." She choked out. "What? How?" I asked. Reluctantly, She pulled her sleeve up enough to reveal her wrist. A bruise was clearly displayed. "Did I do that?" I asked quietly, guilt seeping through me. "No..." She said, guarding her words. "Then how? How did it get there?" I asked. Sadness crossed her face before it was exchanged for a half-hearted smile. "Did Danny do that?" I asked, anger welling up inside. A look of horror and disappointment disconfigured her face. "No! Danny's nice! He would never hurt me!" She exclaimed. "He better not." I murmured. "He wouldn't" She almost whispered. I sighed. We're getting off-track. "How'd it happen then?" I asked. She hesitated, her eyes racing. "It happened, um, in... Volleyball! Yes, Volleyball." She said. "Stop Lying." I said, matter-factly. "Leave me alone." She said, pressing my keys to my chest and started walking away. "Alexandra! Seriously?"

He knows me way to well. I thought to myself as I walked back to the house, my stomach wrenching in pain as breathing became hard. Not right now. Please. "Alexandra! Seriously?" I heard him groan, but he did not follow me. I knew I was about to pass out. I knew this familiar feeling too well. My knees buckled and I blacked out almost immediately.

She didn't reply which added to my frustration. I didn't give her the satisfaction of looking back at her and got into my truck. I peeked a look, knowing my tinted windows made it impossible for her to see me. Where is she? I wondered. There's no way she got to the house so fast. I searched the yard until I settled on a heap mid-way to the house. "What in the world?!" I said, jumping out of the truck, hitting my head on the frame in the process. I paid no attention to it and ran as fast as I could to her. I was dizzy, but couldn't worry about that. She was completely blacked-out. I felt her pulse. Slow. Too slow. I realized she was breathing very much either. Oh, Lex. I thought, beginning to apply mouth-to-mouth CPR. I had taken some medical classes, including CPR. She responded a little bit and her breathing picked up. I paused and called 911. "This is 9-9-1, what is your emergency?" The dispatcher answered. "My- my girlfriend-she--" I was out of breath. "Calm down, Sir." She replied. I took a deep breath. "My girlfriend-she passed out. Her breathing's-slow and so is her-her pulse." I managed to choke out. "Do you know CPR, sir?" She asked. "Yes, I've been doing that already. Please-please send an-ambulance." I replied. "What is your address?" She asked. I told her and she replied. "Ambulance is en route. Please stay on the line. Continue with CPR." She said, calmly. "Yes, I--" My phone died. Great! I continued CPR and after what seemed like forever, the squeal of an ambulance was heard. They pulled in quickly. "Sir, we can take care of her now." A medic told me. I hesitated, but realized they could take better care of her than I could. I backed away and they took over. Medics yelled out to each other medical terms I didn't know of. I was exhausted, I had been doing CPR for nearly an hour. I staggered to the ground and just sat there. "Are you alright, sir?" A medic came and asked. "Yeah-yeah, I'm fine." I replied. "How-how is she?" I asked. Silence. I looked up. "She'll be fine, sir." She quickly replied. She knelt down. "How did you get that gash?" She asked, moving my head so she could see. I touched my forehead and winced in remembrance and pain. "Did you and her get into an arguement?" She prodded. "Yes, but we didn't hurt each other. I hit my head on my truck frame." I gestured to my truck. "You might need stitches." She stated. "Great..." I murmured.

We got to the hospital soon and it was decided that both of us needed to be checked out. Tests were being run on Lex right now while my head was taken care of. "Blake, is it?" A doctor came in. "Yes, sir. Blake Somers." I replied, sitting up more. "It seems that you have a concussion and need stitches." He declared. "Yes, sir." I replied. "We'll get that done and then we can talk about Alexandra." He said....
My head was bandaged and I had my future appointment set. Now for Lex. "So, doctor?" I questioned. "What about Lex?" I asked. "She has multiple bruises, abrasions and..." He trailed off. "And what?" I asked. "I'll tell you that in a moment, but first I have a few questions. Have you been beating your girlfriend?" He asked, seriously. "No, never! and she's not my girlfriend." I replied. "Oh, well. I guess we'll have to ask Alexandra about the bruises and abrasions." He stated, writing down something on a clip-board. "Now what was that other thing you were talking about?" I asked. "Blake, she's, well, pregnant."
