Sticks and stones

Blake trudged down the sidewalk, trying to think of what to do. He thought of the cuts, and bruises all over her arms. He staggered to a nearby bench and put his elbows on his knees. His hands covered his face. How did I not realize the signs? The Faintness, the bruise on her wrist, the hiding of her body, that cut on her temple that one time...  It was almost too much for him to bear. He was exhausted from the CPR and all the drama.

Blake***

Drama causes Trauma, Blake thought to himself. Alexandra had come up with such a phrase years ago whilst giving me a pep talk, like she always would and it had just stuck. Blake didn't know what to do. Reporting to the police would probably be the best option, but then I wouldn't get to take care of HIM... Blake wouldn't be satisfied until Justice was done, by himself...

                              --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blake got into his truck, shut the door and cranked his truck up. The radio lit up and started blasting Luke Bryan's song, "Do I"   "Does the sight of me wanting you drive you crazy, Do I have your love, am I still enough, Tell me don't I, or tell me Do I, Baby?" The song blasted out the Lyrics as Blake sat there in awe. How, How did the radio know what I was thinking? His thoughts were jumbled and he didn't know where these thoughts were coming from. He wasn't even sure if he was legally able to drive, but he had work to do...

Danny***

I slipped into her room and shut the door quietly. Alex sat on her bed, hugging her knees, tears running down her face. I saw her arms and a bruise near her eye. "Oh, Alex..." I groaned. I didn't love her like I knew Blake did, but she was like a sister to me.  She jerked her head up, her breath hitching from crying.  "Daniel!" She landed on the floor and ran to me, hugging me tightly. "What's happened?" I asked her, breaking the embrace and looking at her intently. Her tear-stained face looked away, "I don't know how I would--" Her breathing hitched and she made no effort to continue. I lead her back to the bed. "Get in." I told her. "Danny, now is not the time." She told me. I picked her up quickly and set her on the bed. "Danny! That hurts." She exclaimed. "What does?" I asked her. "Picking me up right there you press on this." She lifted her hospital gown to reveal her thigh. Her thigh was worst than her arms. Scars, deep cuts, dark purplish-blue bruises. She quickly covered her thigh again, realizing what she had just shown me. I flipped her gown back up, staring at them. "Danny stop!" She told me. I ignored her plea and said, "How did you get these? And don't you dare tell me some excuse." I told her. Some of the cuts were old and healing, but some were less than a week old. "I--I..." She stuttered. "Alexandra! The truth!" I told her. "Blake didn't tell you?" She asked. "WaIt?! Did he do this? I mean, I knew that he had anger issues, but this?!" I went on and on. "Stop, Danny! He didn't!" She frantically stopped me. "Then tell me." I answered. "Brycin Camden..." Her voice faltered just saying the name. Brycin? Why? How?  She looked at me, "Just let me sleep... I'll explain it to you later..." She said, covering herself and flipping her body away from me. I left her bed and went and sat in an armchair across the room. I sighed, placing my hands on my hair and ruffling it in frustration. I sat there for hours, thinking about where Blake was and what he was doing. I started to get worried. Where was he?

     Blake***

I walked down the hospital towards Lex's room, I felt drunk even though I was sober. My thoughts were so jumbled. How am I supposed to even find him? I stumbled along, thinking. "Sir? Are you alright?" A nurse came up to me and asked. "I--I don't know," I mumbled. I felt like I would pass out and I didn't know why. Maybe because of the concussion? My legs gave out from under me and I fell to the floor. I had blacked out...

     Amanda Jackson***

I had asked this teenager if he was okay, he was staggering down the hall with his head bandaged and when I had asked him, he mumbled, "I don't know." I thought the kid was drunk or something and then he just passed out. I had caught him and I called out to a doctor who was just walking down the hall and he ran over to help me. "Nurse, what happened?" He asked me, checking his vitals. "He was staggering down the hall so I asked him if he was okay and he said he didn't know and then he just passed out." I told him, I was a relatively new nurse and so I was freaked out about all this. "Alright, let's get him of the floor and onto a bed." He said. I looked for a nearby hospital bed and found none. This is an emergency, I'll just have to bend the rules.  I thought, carefully getting up and running into a empty nearby room, I disconnected the bed from the wall and managed to get it out of the room and into the hall. I hurried to the teenager's side and got ready to lift him with the Doctor's help. "On the count of 3. 1, 2, 3!" We moved him to the bed and we started pushing him towards the E.R. We passed the ward's clerk desk and the Doctor(who I still didn't know the name of) rambled of things to the nurse. "Yes, I agree." I heard him say softly to the nurse. He turned to me, "Alright, change of plans, we're going to take him to an examination room and run some tests instead of holding up the E.R." The Doctor stated. "Alright." I replied. We continued on, until we reached the simple examination room...

  Blake ***

The whole room was blurry, I couldn't see a thing. The room cleared slightly and I jumped as something moved into my vision above me. "Calm down. I'm a nurse." I heard a woman say. My head pounded with pain and I tried to lift it. "Ow!" I said, dropping my head back down with a bang, inducing more pain. "Don't do that!" I heard her say. My vision was still blurry. I tried with all my might to get up again and this time sat up, my body movements jagged. My vison cleared almost completely. "Sir, you can just--" I cut her off, "I have to--to go." I stumbled out of the room and started yelling for Lex. I knew I was still at the Hospital, but on what floor or hall, I had no idea. A door opened suddenly and my head lolled to where the door was. There stood Danny. A look of terror on his face is all I remember before I passed out yet again.
