Chapter Three: coffee chats and shopping spree
Ruthie and Lucy had return from shopping and was unloading Lucy vehicle. They had several bags and some larger pieces of furniture. Ruthie bought a couch and recliner but would have to get someone with a truck to go pick it up for her.
Once they unloaded this stuff Lucy insisted they drive back to Crossing Village which is the nearby town but about a hour drive. It has the strangest name die a town of 4,000 or so people that she has ever heard..
Martin had pulled up in front of his apartment in the parking spot meant for his. " Ruthie, Lucy you girls need some help?" He asked
Lucy replied " That would be great Martin. In fact would you be able to take Ruthie tomorrow to pick up her couch and chair you know since you got a truck to haul it in"
Ruthie feeling a little annoyed that Lucy jumped into asking Martin right away " If he busy I can find someone else"
" We can go early in the morning be back by the youth luncheon which you will be Introduce at" Martin replied.
Ruthie nodded " Thanks. You two are gonna kill me with your early mornings"
Martin and Lucy grinned. " Let's get this stuff inside than we will head out. Their a Walmart and dollar general but that's about it and a few local shops " Lucy, Ruthie and Martin carried the rest of the items inside.
" Wait... you girls are going back to town to shop ?"
Ruthie replied " Well we only went to a few flea makers. Lucy said I had to go back and get some house items and groceries so yep we are! "
Lucy phone started ringing " I'll be right back it's probably Kevin" Lucy stepped inside Ruthie apartment and took her phone call
Ruthie and Martin was left feeling kinda awkward. " Would you join me after Dinner tonight" Martin asked.
Ruthie knew they would be meeting again to discuss work but she didn't know when. After Dinner sounded perfect .
" I liked that Martin.. I'll meet you here after Dinner" Martin was so happy to be able to have some more one on one time talking to Ruthie.
Lucy came back out. " Thanks Martin. Ruthie and I are going to head out now. Here take this. " Lucy shoved a piece of paper onto his hands and gotten into her vehicle before he had time to react. Ruthie stood there looking confused. Shook her head than got on with Lucy.
Martin waited to the girls drove away before unfolding the paper. It was Ruthie call phone number. Lucy was definitely up to something. Like she was trying hard right push them together.

The girls was at the Subway inside of the local Walmart.
" Ruthie, are you ready to start work Monday? I think the kids will love you"
" I am looking forward to to. I really appreciate it. " she wasn't going to tell Lucy she was really looking forward to spending time with Martin.
" Have you and Martin discuss your plans for the year? What areas that you want to focus on?" Lucy asked her
" No not yet but we will. I am not familiar with what these girls struggle with. Wanna build a bond than go from there" Ruthie explained. She has no experience with ministering to youth but it would be a learning experience.
" Good plan. You are aware that you can take college classes too right. Do you know what you would like to learn" Lucy knew at one time Ruthie had a heart for counseling.
