"MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY."

"Hold all radio traffic for mayday."

"MAYDAY FIREFIGHTER DOWN. WE HAVE A CEILING COLLAPSE IN THE BRAVO CHARLIE CORNER. I REPEAT. FIREFIGHTER DOWN AT THE BRAVO CHARLIE CORNER."

"RIT team has been deployed. Mayday, activate your PASS device."

"MAYDAY COPIES."

My hands found my mask that was hanging off my air-pack. I quickly slipped it over my head, pulling the straps to secure it to my head. I reached to the ground and grabbed the emergency RIT bag, as I pulled over my hood, and secured my helmet. Beside me, Sergeant Wilson lifted his axe, slamming the head into the window, glass shattering onto the ground. I looked to my Sgt as we both attached our regulators to our masks before climbing our way into the window. I hopped in first, sweeping the ground with my hands before climbing all the way in, my Sgt following close behind.

The heat quickly consumed, with nothing surrounding me except darkness from the thick smoke. Upon entering the window, I instantly heard the screeching sound of an activated PASS device. The device was used as an emergency alarm if a firefighter were to be in danger. The device senses movement, if you stay in one place too long, the device activates itself. If needed, it can also be activated through an emergency button.

I stayed low to the ground, holding my hands in front of me as I searched the room. It wasn't long before I spotted the dim glow of a flashlight on the other side. As I got closer, I was finally able to make out the outline of another guy.

"Y/n! Serg! Over here!" I quickly made my way over, my sergeant right behind me.

"It's Miller, he's trapped under this plank. I can't lift it on my own!" he shouted through his mask. I recognized the voice of FF Joel Hedge. We quickly moved toward the board, our gloved hands finding their way underneath it, getting a firm grip. Together, we lifted the board, and as soon as it was high enough, I quickly reached down, finding the strap of this airpack and pulling him toward me.

"He's out! He's out," I shouted and I heard the sound of the board hitting the ground.

Squad 1 to command, Squad 1 to command... mayday was found. Taking him to the Charlie side window.

Together: myself, Wilson, and Joel pulled Miller out the way we came. Within seconds, we were able to spot the glow of the window we opened. Joel hopped outside as Wilson and I lifted him up, Joel guiding his limp body out the window. As soon as we all climbed out, I dragged Miller a few feet into the grass. I unbuckled his airpack as Joel pulled it off his back and Wilson focused on removing his mask and helmet.

"Serg, he's not breathing."

Joel move his fingers to his neck, checking for a pulse while I removed his jacket.

He shook his head, and I sprung into action starting chest compressions. I looked up to see the Captain making his way over, two other guys bringing over the stretcher.

"He's unresponsive. We need to get him on stretcher and get moving," I ordered. We paused chest compressions, lifting him to the stretcher as another guy took over. We quickly made our way to the truck, and I climbed into the back, ripping off my own mask and helmet and tossing it to the bench seat.

"Joel! Stay back here with me and get the pads on. LETS GET THIS MOVING NOW!" I shouted, holding in my panic. I swiftly pulled out a BVM mask and began ventilating him, while using my other hand to attach the pads to our monitor. I soon felt the driver slam on the gas, almost throwing me across the back as I radioed the hospital.
