[Chrom P.O.V.] Vaughn's House 2:00 Pm
I've been living at Mister Vaughn's house since the day he helped me, as I have no family, he adopted me and acts as my guardian.
Today is the weekend, so I am inside my room granted by Mister Vaughn, remembering the events of yesterday, intrigued by the sensations and interactions I had 'Why did John want to know my name? why did I skip my first day of school? and why do they like playing something so frivolous so much' While thinking i hear my cell phone ring and I see a call from Seraphina, the girl I met yesterday, who seems to be very attached to john even though they have such different views of each other.
After John asked several times, I gave them my number, so I pick up my phone and accept the call from Seraphina and immediately hear her saying "Hey Chrom, how are you, I'm going to the mall with John now, do you want to come with us?" Without giving me time to answer the first question, she asks me if i want to go shopping with her and john, her question reminds me of a conversation I had with Mister Vaughn
Flashback
That was the day I met Mister Vaughn, sometime after he'd offered me to join Wellston School, by which time Doctor Darren had already left.
"Sir, can I ask you a question?" I ask Mister Vaughn, who gives me a smile and replies "Of course young Chrom, tell me what you're thinking" 'Why does he always look happy when I say something? well it doesn't matter' I think right after he gives me permission to ask the question "I wanted to know why you gave me the opportunity to get into a high demand school? without any kind of test or information about me" I ask with a certain indifference, but with a hint of curiosity
"Like I said, as you seem to have immense potential, for what I'm looking for, you seem to be one of the people who can change society, and also what's wrong with helping a child in need?" This only increased my doubts 'Why would someone with such a high position in the hierarchy think like that?' Putting my thoughts aside I ask something that's been on my mind for a long time "Sir if you allow me to ask another question... how can I be free?" This makes Mister Vaughn frown "I don't know the reason for your question, but to answer it, it's up to you Chrom" His response makes me raise an eyebrow "What do you mean Sir?" I ask genuinely confused, not understanding what he means, and that makes him smile again and answer me...
"Because it depends on your actions, on you accepting the opportunities that life gives you, and you have already taken a big step by accepting to enter my school, everything will depend on what you are going to do, and knowing how to act at the right moment" He says with a big smile, which makes me curious and reflective about his words, but I don't say anything and stop thinking about it...
Flashforward
As I was reminiscing about my old conversation with Mister Vaughn, I hear a loud noise coming from my cell phone.
"DON'T BE FOOLED, DON'T TAKE THE DEAL WITH THE DEVIL" I hear John yelling
"Shut up, it's not that bad" Seraphina replies and then talks to me "by the way, you don't have a choice, we'll see you at the entrance of Kovoro Mall, bye bye~" She hangs up without letting me say anything
'Was this the sort of opportunity Mister Vaughn meant?' I think as I get up to get ready to go out...
