Chapter 2 - Leap of faith

Morana simply seemed to have lost her own words.

"I-uh-hmm" Morana said trying to understand the situation. Before Morana could answer the strange woman. The clock struck 12 AM the church bell rang loud. In the distance Morana could see crows heading to the balcony.

"When you have reached your decision of what it is you truly desire. Go to the lost forest. You shall find me there." The strange woman said with a smirk on her face. She turned away and looked over the railing. She mumbled something under her breath before she jumped off the balcony. She saw the crows disappear into thin air.

Morana who was flabbergasted by such a display started screaming and fell to the floor. She then got up and rushed towards the balcony railing. She looked over the railing but she did not see a body laying on the floor nor did she saw the woman in black.

In shock she decided to head home and not speak to anyone about it. She walked out of the balcony into the ballroom again. When Morana had entered everyone seemed to look at Morana like they have seen a ghost. All of a sudden Arietta starts running towards Morana.

"Sister, are you okay? Where were you?" Arietta said while holding back tears "I was so scared something had happened to you." Arietta said while gently embracing Morana. Morana howver seemed to be very uncomfortable with the embrace given by her younger sister.

"Morana" A distant yet oh so familar voice said. It was Morana her father. The king. He came closer walking towards Morana and Arietta with the queen next to him.

"Morana, where were you? We all were worried sick." said the king. Morana however did not seemed to believe any word that came out of the kings mouth. Morana aimlessly started looking around.
"Morana..?" the king said while having an uneasy look on his face.

When Morana starts to walk away the king places his hand on Morana her shoulder. "Let go, don't make me cause a scene." Morana said with an intimidating look on her face. The king backed his hand away. It seemed asif the king felt both scared and ashamed.

When Morana walked away she finally found her personal maid. She was standing by the buffet. It turns out Card was fighting an old lady over.... shrimps.

"How can one act so vulgar? This is a ball. Hosted by the king no less." the old woman said in an outraged tone.

Card simply stared at the old woman in confusion."Woman, I am just eating some shrimps. Go bother someone else. Papa hasn't eaten something this fancy in like forever."

The old woman responded with nothing more but a disgusted look on her face. She probably seemed to be riddled why one would refer to themself as 'papa'.

While card is forcefeeding herself all the shrimps she then stops while her mouth is still stuffed. "You want some?" Card mumbled while food spit on the woman's face.

The old woman screamed and left as she was about to cry out of embarrassment.

"What a weirdo." Card said while trying to swallow all the shrimps in her mouth. When she finally saw Morana staring at her Card starting choking on the shrimps she stuffed herself with.

"Are you having fun?" Morana sarcastically said. She seemed to a bit annoyed with Card.

Card who is still trying to swallow her shrimps because she refuses to spit them out is making Morana more pissed off.

"Card, I gave you one job. ONE job, what was it?" Morana said while trying to hide her embarrassment.

Card whose mouth was still stuffed responded "Don't cause a scene." Card said trying to smile with a stuffed face.
