Chapter 7 - Stranger danger

"Get out of that tree now." Arietta said with an annoyed yet dark look on her face while facing the tree.

A guy got out of the tree and leaned his back to the tree as he stared Arietta in the eyes.

"What are you doing here, Seraph?" Arietta said with an intimidating yet annoyed tone.

"Rude, normal people say hello, my dear Arietta" Seraph said while lifting his head.

'Normal people dont stalk as its considered inadequate. What are you even doing here..?' Arietta said as she was getting a little nervous being alone with him.

'What am I doing here? hmm I missed you?' he said coming closer to Arietta. As he brushed her pink hair behind her ears.

Arietta her face turned pale asif she was terrified of him. She slapped his hand away from her 'Why are you here? simply and surely not to see me. You're planning something sinister. I hate it when u do this.'

Seraph took a step back as he looked at Arietta from head to toe. 'It must be so exhausting, acting perfect all the time to gain the people's approval and love. You can always use me, if u need an escape that is.'

'I didnt ask for this whole commentary story of yours, Seraph. I asked what are u doing here.' Arietta said while sounded both agitated and intimidatingly scared.

'Don't worry you know I would never hurt you, Arietty. Tho im sure you've noticed the few changes that have been happening.' Seraph said as he tilted his head giving Arietta a sinister smile.

'W-what? Seraph... what did you do? Arietta said while having a lump in her throat. 'Did u poison ny dad? You always claim to love me and you would never hurt me but because of you everyone I love keeps dying. My brother and now even my father is in grave danger.'

'That's not my fault. If you wanna know the truth open your eyes, Arietty. Stop hiding behind your little perfect girl facade. All I am doing is all for you, my Arietty. Seraph said as he sighed.

Seraph rushed to Arietty and grabbed her arms as he said 'I am doing this because I love you. These people dont deserve you, Arietty. You have been forced to put on this facade of acting perfect for people that are not worth it. How do you expect me to stand still and do nothing as you're slowly losing your mind.'

Before Arietta could say something she got interrupted by Seraph who placed his hand on her face caressing her cheek. 'Why dont you simply open your eyes to see the truth for yourself, what is real and what isn't. Even when you're father was coughing the day before you went to see your sister so that she would empathise with you. So you would grow a bond perhaps. Well guess what? You and I both know that she hates you.

You tried to get her to acknowledge how perfect and harmlessly innocent you are. Yet in reality you are not satisfied with merely being perfect. Only I know the real, my Arietty. So to finally answer your question I am here for you. All I ever did was for you. If you disagree with my way then you shouldve changed. ' Seraph said as he slowly tucked her pink hair behind her ears again he slowy leaned closer to her ear and whispered. 'This is your fault everything that will happen is your fault. Don't you dare forget that, my lovely Arietta.'

'Arie..tta..?' A faint voice said in the distant. Making Ari look around her to see that Seraph disappeared and Ezekiel showed up.
