001-
CURRENTLY, Jade was sitting on a bus.
Her Latin class, taught by Chiron disgusted as a teacher named Mr. Brunner, was taking a Field Trip to The Metropolitan Museum of Arts. Their substitute teacher, Mrs. Dodds, was also joining them. Chiron had to use his human disguise, a wheelchair and a blanket to hide his horse lower-body.
Mrs. Dodds claimed to be a math teacher from Georgia who always wore leather jackets even though she was like fifty years old. She looked very mean. Like, you-smeared-Aphrodite's-eyeliner mean. She looked like she really wanted to smack your face in the dirt and make you eat it. Jade thought she might turn into a flower just looking at her face. Mrs. Dodds came to the school halfway through the year when our original math teacher conveniently had a nervous breakdown.
Now, Jade was at boarding school because she didn't really need to stay at camp all year like some other half-bloods. She was a daughter of Demeter, so her scent wasn't that strong. She didn't have anywhere else to go, so she just stayed at Yancy Academy for the whole school year to help Grover recruit more demi-gods.
The daughter of Demeter was currently laying on two seats, leaning against the window in the row across from the two idiots of the class.
Well, the two idiots that she likes to call her best friends, that is. Grover and Percy, Grover who she knew from camp, and Percy who they have suspicion is a Half-Blood.
Grover was this little scrawny saytr who had to pretend to be human at school. He usually wore his Rasta cap in case it started raining and his hair flattened, making his horns visible. He had curly hair and the start of a little goatee on his chin, most people thought he had been held back a grade or two because of this.
Percy had jet-black hair and striking sea-green eyes. His hair was usually messy and all over the place, Jade wondered if he ever combed it. He had became her friend through Grover, who had become his friend at the start of the year.
Jade was kind of excited for the trip, she did already know pretty much everything there was to Greek Mythology, seeing that she was technically a part of it, but she still liked to look at the cool statues.
Nancy Bobofit was still throwing piece of her peanut butter and ketchup sandwich at Grover. That combination was enough to make anyone vomit, but the fact that it was getting in Grover's hair was even worse.
Nancy Bobofit was this really annoying girl with hair as red as Ares' eyes and freckles that looked like liquid Cheetos had been sprayed on his face. She was always trying to pick trouble with Percy and Grover, doing absolutely anything go get Percy in trouble.
"It's okay. I like peanut butter." Grover said meekly. People usually found Grover an easy target, since he was scrawny and basically looked like someone who couldn't fight back.Percy finally stood up, going to defend Grover until Jade caught his hand before he got too far.
"No! Percy, you can't, you'll probably get expelled! You already know Mrs. Dodds will find anything to get you in trouble and you're already on probation."
Percy's jaw clenched, he knew she was right. He plopped back down on his seat next to Grover.
Jade got up from her seat once the bus stopped, yawning and following Grover and Percy as they got off the bus.
When they stepped the last step down, she put her hands on either of their shoulders and jumped off the bus, landing with a thump in between the two.
