Basically while Dipsy was stuck in a cage for a few weeks, Walten had an opportunity to go on an expedition with Miles and Anne, so he asked Ron to take care of the infected while he was gone, so basically they kinda connected that way, even though Dipsy was a weirdo the whole time and Ron still hated him for killing his coworkers and friend, but they talked and ended up getting it all figured out after a some time, so Ron stopped hating him, still finds him annoying though-
