The Billionaire's Secretary!

Chapter One

"Isabelle hurry up before we are both late!" I said to my little sister. I forgot to set the alarm last night. I was so tired from coming home from work that I just knocked out when I got home. I even slept in my waitress uniform. I know YUCK! Good thing I got to take a shower before running out the house. Enough about me let me introduce you to my sister Isabelle. She is 15 years old, she goes to a private school that my parents put her in before dieing in a plane crash 4 years ago. Isabelle lives with me since I am her Guardian and older sister. I am 24 years old, I am a waitress at a fancy restaurant that I used to enjoy working at. Okay back to realty. As Isabelle was running down down our house stairs I was making her a quick on the go breakfast before we left. I ran to my car out of breath with my uniform and purse in hand. I gave Isabelle her breakfast. "You didn't have to make me breakfast Kat, I could've just eaten at school." Isabelle said. "I know Isa but we are gonna be late and your not gonna be able to grab breakfast so just eat that, okay Hun." I started driving while Isabelle ate her breakfast. Her school is 15 minutes away from where we live now. If I drive fast enough I can get Isabelle to school on time and I can probably get to work 5 minutes late. As we neared Isabelle's school I said " Isa I will be here at 3:30 to pick you up and if I'm not here call Ana to pick up okay Hun! I will call her if I can't make it out of work on time okay?" Isabelle looked at me with a I know face and just said "Okay Kat! Bye!" She ran up the stairs to her school before they closed the doors on her. Once she was inside I left and went straight to work which was 10 mins away. Good thing traffic wasn't so bad this morning, usually it's a stand still and I'm stuck in traffic for 30 mins to an hour! Seattle problems! I got to my job in less than 5 minutes. I ran inside with my purse and uniform in hand. I'm trying to hide from Jack on my way in, his my boss which makes it weird because he has asked me on dates every since I started working. Sometimes I wonder if that's the only reason I got hired. On my way to the changing girls room I spotted Serena she was lingering and flirting with some billionaire who looked like he had no interest in her. I giggled and went to change. Once in the lady's room I got to changing my normal clothes to my uniform. As I was putting my hair in a ponytail Serena walks in. She looks at me and gives me a "Ew" face. I have no idea why she hates me but I have no time to find out why or to care at most. Once I finish putting my hair in a ponytail I walk out the lady's room, still trying to put my apron on. Without paying attention or bothering to look where I'm walking, I crash into something or someone.
"Excuse me, watch where your going young lady!" The stranger said.
"I'm so sorry sir. I was so preoccupied with trying to put on my apron that I didn't bother to look where I'm going." As I looked up I recognized who he was. He was the very famous Mr.Edwards. He was my daily customer. Every time he came in he would request me as his waitress I never knew why or bothered to ask. He is a sweet old men. "I'm just playing with you Katerina, I knew that was you. I just thought it would be fun to catch you off guard for a minute." He was laughing at me. It didn't bother me because come on his my favorite customer. "Oh Mr.Edwards you almost scared me to death." I said sarcastically while grabbing a menu to seat him down. As we walked on our way to his favorite spot in the restaurant. Mr.Edwards was telling me about how his vacation with his family went. "It was fun and hectic at the same time. Trust me when I say I love my son to death but when he decides to bring his relentless,annoying girlfriend to our vacations. It makes me wish that I didn't have a son that would date somebody like Hilary!" Mr.Edwards has a 28 year old son who of course is dating the Hilary that Mr.Edwards does not like. I have never met his son or his son's girlfriend personally. "I don't understand how he can be with Hilary. He is smart and handsome and trustworthy. I mean come on his the CEO of Edwards Inc. how does he not have any sense in dating a smart, nice, and trustworthy girl." I didn't personally understand what Mr.Edwards was going threw but I did hope it got better for him. All he wants is for his son to find the love of his life and settle down.

Once I had a nice regular conversation with Mr.Edwards I got him his meal and went back to work. We had a rush as always but I managed to handle it till the end of shift which was at 3:15. I was running around the whole restaurant trying to find Jack to tell him I was leaving until I found him in the kitchen talking to the Chef. "Hey Jack I'm leaving. I finished my duties so I'll see you tomorrow okay?" I was about to run out trying to avoid talking to Jack because I knew the next words that where about to come out of his mouth would be him asking me out on a date for the kabillionth time. "Wait Katerina I have something to ask you before you leave"
"I'm sorry Jack I can't talk right now. I have to pick up Isabelle from school Bye now." I ran as quick as I could to the lady's room and grabbed my purse and ran out to my car. It was 3:31 when I got to Isabelle's school.
"I almost thought you forgot about me or something. I was getting ready to Call Ana and tell her I got abandoned at school again." she said while looking at me laughing. "Oh hush Isa I told you I would be here to pick you up. Now let's go home and watch movies and stuff our faces!" We did this all the time when I had free time. It was my way of bonding with Isabelle and finding out about her everyday life. As we got home Isabelle jumped out of the car straight for the house. I turned my ignition off and checked our mailbox. There was another letter of eviction from our Bank Company. I have been behind our house payments for three months already. I needed to find a new job before it got worst. What the restaurant was paying me wasn't doing it anymore. The money I got just helped pay the bills which wasn't enough to help pay for the house. I went inside hiding the eviction letter from Isabelle. I don't want her worrying about my problems. She is only 15. She needs to just worry about school.
"Hey Isabelle do your homework while I cook dinner and we can watch movies after, okay?" I said while opening the refrigerator to make some chicken Parmesan. Chicken Parmesan is one of mine and Isabelle's favorite. Once me and Isabelle where done with dinner and washing our dishes. Isabelle put on "The Fault in Our stars." This was the 10th time we have watched this movie but it never bothers me just as long as she enjoys it and plus she falls asleep halfway through it. While Isabelle was watching the movie I was applying for another job. Luckily I graduated College when I was 22. It was hard but I made it all the way. I majored in Business. I did work for a major company once but after working there for 8 months I quit because I didn't feel comfortable with my Bosses attempts to trying to get with me as his secretary. After I quit he threatened to ruin my career, which did happen because no other company would hire me due to his reference about me. So that's how I got stuck with this low paying restaurant job. I can't complain because it's better then nothing. It's 10:45 and Isabelle is past out. It's a good thing she is a light weight because if she wasn't I would have to leave her to sleep on the couch. As I carried her to her bed and tucked her in, my phone started ringing. I ran out of Isabelle's room before she woke up. "Hello" I said while walking back downstairs to clean up our mess. "Hey Katerina it's nice to know your still alive and kicking!" Ana said. "Hey Ana I'm sorry it has been a long day I forgot to call or text you!" Ana has been my best friend since middle school. We went to college together and majored in the same thing. But she was lucky that she got to work for Edwards Inc. Yes she works with Mr.Edwards son. I didn't know till a Month ago when I asked her where did she work. I know she's my best friend I should know everything about her but trust me not everything should be known. " Hey Kat well I was just calling because I wanted to see if you where still awake cause I'm coming over. I have great news for you since you're looking for a new job." She said all eagerly. "Umm okay I'll see you in a bit then Ana." I hung up.

As I was turning the TV the door bell rang. I ran to get the door bell because I knew who it was already. "Hey Ana come in" Ana didn't need no invitation to come in. It was like her second home already. "Hey girl!!!!! Where's Isa??? Is she asleep? I'm gonna go wake her up!" She was halfway up the stairs before I stopped her.
"Ana no let her sleep she has exams tomorrow and I don't want her lacking sleep and rest!" I said while walking right behind her. "Come on Ana lets go to my room and talk about whatever you where gonna tell me." Once I said that Ana's eyes grew wide with excitement again and merely dragged me to my room to tell me her exciting news. Once we got to my room we sat down on my bed. "Well Kat I know how your looking for a job to leave that crappy ass job that you call a job." I never get offended by her words cause she's Ana come on, bubbly, cheerful, no harmful Ana. " Well the good news is that Mr.Edwards son John needs a Secretary as soon as possible. And since well you know Mr.Edwards, I had a conversation with him today on his way up to his son's office and he asked me if I knew anybody with experience and patients to work with his son. And I said yes because I did know somebody and that was you. I told him about you Kat and how you where looking for a job. He asked me why you never told him this and I said "Well sir she just started looking for one, a hour ago. A little white lie won't hurt him haha. But any who he said he will get you on the top list of applicants and he will have a interview ready for you tomorrow at 8:00 Am sharp. So Katerina Anastasia Jones you have a interview tomorrow at 8am Sharp with Mr.Edwards son. You are welcome." I couldn't believe what she just said. First she got me an interview which, don't get me wrong I am thankful but an interview with Mr.Edwards son John Edwards. "Ana thank you so much but I don't think I can take it. I mean I need a job an all but it's been two years that I've worked in a big Company. I mean this is a Multi-Billion Company. I doubt John will ever hire me just because I know his dad." I started panicking at this moment because I didn't know what to do. "Calm down Kat! That's why I'm here. I help you remember everything and I'll even help you get dressed and ready for that interview tomorrow morning" I looked at her and I knew that smile she has on her face. That's the we will be up all night till we get this right, smile. I knew this was gonna be a long night..... Oh what has Ana done.
