Tommie's POV:
I waited until I saw Griffin fully drive away out of sight before leaving the kitchen. I noticed that his mother sat in the backseat, waiting.I walked into the living room and saw my own mother sitting on the couch. "What was that about?" She asked.
"Doesn't matter." I replied.
I saw her switch the channel to the news. They were talking about the war. There were these alien-like creatures that had been killing civilians left and right. The wall was built as soon as the problem started though. While most of the world was being consumed, we sat behind it, safe.
I sat next to her on the couch. "The Derians..." I blocked out the TV noise. I've heard about this Ceridwynn/Derian crap before.
The government was having problems keeping the enemy away... they were planning a genocide. Luckily for us, the Derians lived behind the wall.
We were safe.
"Your father is coming home tonight." Said my mother, looking towards me.
"You won't be allowed to leave the house for the next three weeks." She continued.
I rolled my eyes, "Why? Is it because I raised my voice at you last night? Or because of my hair... I'm sorr-."
She shook her head. "Your father will choose the right punishment for you. It just isn't safe to have you wandering about outside. The soldiers are..."
I suddenly felt something come up through my throat. "Are you trying to say that I'm not actually my father's daughter?"
My mother scrunched up her face in confusion. "Of course you are. You were even named after him."
I got up and made my way towards my room. "Okay, I get it."
I knew I was different from my family. I lay on my bed and hugged my pillow in frustration.
"Ughh..."
Then I felt like crying. I've been doing a whole lot of that recently. The Starlight Event was in 4 months and I didn't have a design yet. Natasha was totally going to steal the show- the show that I got her in.
Griffin turned out to be one of my worst enemies. The signs were all there, yet I ignored all of them.
My mother was being ignorant and I felt like I couldn't express my pain. And my father was literally absent. Not that it was his fault...
I don't get it. What did I do to deserve this? What did I do? What did I do?

TapI looked up and noticed that I had fallen asleep. I looked quickly at my clock, it wasn't that late. Just 5pm.

I shifted my attention towards my room. It was a mess, clearly deranged and out of place. My mother would hate me more if she'd found it in the state. She'd call me lazy and say mean things; probably take away my room and make me feel like an idiot again.
Tap
Damn it, I thought while stepping on a pile of clothes. If the soldiers don't get to me first, I'm sure my mother's going to kill me instead.
I went over to my window. It was raining. Why was it raining? I'd like to think it was God's tears while helpless people were being murdered.
