"Wow. You must be proud."

Jisung resisted the urge to punch his best friend upon hearing that phrase. Changbin cast a doubtful glance in his direction as the younger stepped out of his apartment. Instead of responding, he calmly locked his door. The two of them then started to walk down the hallway.

"What happened to you?" Changbin eventually asked after a few minutes of silence. He was referring to Jisung's more or less damaged face. Other than the brunet had hoped, the area surrounding his nose was still somewhat red and there was a small cut on his left cheekbone. Although it didn't look too bad, you could still clearly tell that he had gotten beaten up.

"Why do you ask when the answer is obvious?" Jisung didn't intend to snap back at his worried best friend like that, but the mere memory of last night just got him riled up all over again. It wasn't even only the fact he had gotten beat up, but also Minho. The latter hadn't done anything stupid, yet Jisung found himself mad at him for some reason.

"Sorry, man. I mean, who did that to you?" Changbin seemed unbothered by Jisung's sudden attitude. As they approached campus, he briefly turned to look at him.
"I don't know", Jisung replied, eyes glued to the front. "I took a walk last night, and some random dude got all angry because I accidentally bumped into him."

The older hummed in response, a few seconds of silence following.
"Did you at least throw one back at him?"
Jisung scoffed—or laughed, he wasn't even sure himself.
"Do you think I'm just going to let someone beat me up?"
Changbin gave a small smile. He'd known Jisung since they had both first enrolled in university, and ever since they'd grown close. Close enough for Changbin to know that Jisung was the type of guy that looked rather cute and innocent, but is actually ready to fight if someone provoked him.

"Han."

Jisung rolled his eyes as soon as he heard that voice. Him and Minho had ended last night on good terms, yet the brunet was still mad at him. He turned around, Changbin mirroring his movement, confused.
They came face to face with both Minho and Chan, Jisung instantly locking eyes with the black haired boy in front of him, ignoring the smile Chan gave him.
For some unknown reason, Jisung's heartbeat picked up pace after just a few seconds eye contact with Minho. He quickly averted his gaze to check if it was the older's eyes, but when he looked back up at Minho again, he could clearly see his eyes were brown.

"Are you feeling any better?" Minho finally asked while maintaining eye contact. It reminded Jisung of last night when he had laid in Minho's bed after waking up from the nap.
Jisung felt Changbin turn his head to look at him from the side, probably wondering if Minho was the guy who had beaten him up.

Jisung nodded. "Yeah. Thanks again."
"Don't worry about it." Minho said that without even cracking a smile. That was also when Jisung realized that he'd never actually seen Minho smile except when he was getting on Jisung's nerves. That stupid smug smile. But there never was a genuine friendly smile.

"Who's he?" Minho motioned his head towards Changbin, probably, just like Changbin, wondering if he was the one that beat Jisung up. Changbin raised his eyebrows, and Jisung did too. What of Minho's business was it to know who Changbin was?
"Seo Changbin. I study law with Jisung." The shorter boy responded, his eyes switching between Minho and Chan. Minho scoffed audibly, his infamous smug smile appearing again, making Jisung even angrier because he knew exactly what the older was thinking. Changbin also raised an eyebrow, but before anyone could say anything stupid, Chan spoke up.

"Hi. I'm Bang Chan, biochemistry major." He smiled a friendly smile, showing faint dimples in his cheeks. He looked like a nice person, Jisung thought. Someone you would never accuse of messing with science and giving people stupid powers that annoyed the hell out of Jisung.
"Lee Minho. Medicine." Minho looked at Changbin the same way he had looked at Jisung when they had first told him that he studied Medicine. Jisung made an inward effort to relax. Minho apparently still was under the impression that law students were nothing more than laymen. No matter how much he had helped Jisung last night, he was still an asshole. An asshole that made his heart race.

To Jisung's surprise, Changbin remained calm as well, simply crossing his arms.
"If you don't mind." Minho gave Jisung one last sassy smile before walking past him, their shoulders bumping. Chan quickly followed, and not even a second passed before Changbin started questioning Jisung about those two.

"Minho found me beaten up last night and helped me out." Jisung explained nonchalantly, the feeling of Minho's shoulder bumping his replaying in his head over and over. He really needed to be focused for their next lecture.
"That guy?" Changbin scoffed. "You're kidding right? That dude's obviously too full of himself."
Jisung sighed. "Yeah, I was surprised, too." The both of them finally stepped into the auditorium. "Anyway, don't think about it too much. They're not that important."

Except, they were. Even if they hadn't been the past week, they were now. Especially Chan, and that was also where Jisung was going to head after his lectures.
