The Day I Met Iron and Blood

8th day of fighting.after those days our platoon losses were 13 dead, 5 wounded and one missing,such are the losses but we march on .. every day they push every 3 km.we are currently about 86 km from Gdynia. The only support we get are volunteers from nearby villages and towns. They do not lack enthusiasm for fighting, but they do not have knowledge

Today is the 9th day of fighting, they are advancing every now and then . First artillery fire, then the attack and so on for 7 hours until it suddenly stops

We have a moment of rest, Miko is sitting on a destroyed Iron Blood truck. And he smokes a cigarette while rolling up another for a colleague

we waited for them to attack but instead they shot us with artillery we hid where we were lying in a bullet hole .. i thought if my family was still alive .. the shelling ended after 10 minutes . i got up and it was my mistake . i heard a shot then i felt pain in the stomach i got , i fell to the ground, they hold on to the wound. one of mine pulled me out of the hole, dragged me to trenches, then two medics loaded me on a sling....I lost consciousness

I wake up and I see that I am at the railway station, everywhere full of the wounded, and medics and nurses. When one of the doctors got chilled on me and was about to get up but I grabbed his arm

Miko:where are you taking me

Doctor: You are going to Gdynia

I let the Doctor go and he leaves ...they pack us on the train.the journey passes quite peacefully, except for ...those ravens from Iron Blood.when we reach Gdynia, the city and the port were all too calm..they unload us and take us to hospitals ...I stay there for a week and then they discharge me and make me stay in Gdynia..I get a fresh uniform and a rifle from the great war (Mauser Gew98 Rifle)

during the 3 days I spent in Gdynia, not a single Iron Blood attacked Gdynia until the 4th day of my stay..when I was walking with one of the soldiers who lived here

Miko:why don't iron blood attack us?
