This body was incredible.
3 weeks and I had Nen basically mastered, gotten to a level I wanted it to be at. 1 week and I was good enough at martial arts to keep up with Bisky, not to mention all the real-life fighting she had me do, though the people she brought out of nowhere didn't seem to be the most... trustworthy of people.
At first, my heart jumped out of my chest – in fact, I'm pretty sure that I almost collapsed twice from seeing new people I didn't know come to try and kill me – but I didn't(somehow), and I pulled through. The looming doom of eventual death due to the quest, and the unknown made me push through my fears as I trained under one of the greatest teachers Hunter x Hunter had to offer.
Now that I was free to travel by myself, I had to go in search of different Nen abilities in Hunter x Hunter. Nen was already decently rare, to find the Nen ability you needed in specific made things incredibly difficult. The first ability I stole, was the Meteor City Elder's, he said he would not need it anymore, so I stole it from him, bookmarked it, and then stole it from myself before giving it back. The last thing I needed was for the person with the ability to die when I needed to use it the most...
That would suck.
The best way to do this was to travel to a place with a high concentration of Nen users. The only places I could think of for that were the Hunter's Association and the place I was looking at right now.
A large tower reached the skies and pierced the clouds above, a large concentration of people looking around, entering, and leaving. Going inside, I saw a spacious arena with several small platforms working as fighting stages. I signed up in the tower and hummed as I saw the girl at the register nod, "Are you new to Heavens Arena?" she asked.
"Yes... but I know the rules." I kept things as short as humanly possible. I already had to be watched by hundreds of people, now I was also forced to talk to them. Damn it.
"Oh... how unlucky, you'll have to wait until tomorrow, it seems like a lot of contestants dropped out." Of course, that happened the first time I arrive. Still, it wasn't a horrible deal, that way I could think of an actual strategy for when I fought people with abilities. The Elder of Meteor City's ability was Sun and Moon, by putting a sun and moon marker on someone I could make them explode.
That was the gist of it. There was more to it, but in the end, it exploded things. It was an incredibly good start. With Cookie's massage, I only needed one hour of sleep per day, which meant I could use 23 hours of the day to maximize productivity. Cookie could also be used to cure soreness, stiffness, and a lot more. It was the ultimate daycare and the ultimate Transmutation ability for those who hate wasting time.
It would allow me to keep training until I can't anymore, have a one-hour rest, then continue. The plan was to increase my Aura reserves as much as possible. The Ants in the Chimera-Ant arc proved that you could beat anyone if you increase your aura reserves to a high degree and polish your Nen slightly.
"Is your plan to just... wait here?" The receptionist tilted her head. I was brought out of my head, instantly freezing hearing her voice. Maybe it was because I spent a whole month with Bisky, but I didn't feel as nervous as usual, "Also, you should probably put on a shirt."
I looked down and nervously chuckled, my chest was bare. I had gotten so used to it, that I completely forgot to put a shirt on. "My bad," I told her scratching the back of my head, "Sorry for that, I forgot," I gave her a nervous grin, then went to the small shop nearby. I looked at the bank account Chrollo had... it was nearly out of money already "Damn... I might have over-spent with my whole plan... hunters are super fucking expensive..." I sighed and pocketed it, buying myself a random T-shirt.
