================================================================================================================================================================

My eyes opened to somewhere new. I held something in my right hand, pressing it against my ear. It was definitely a phone. I was sitting as opposed to standing up as I had been seconds prior.

The smell of rust and iron made me recoil a little. I looked around and wondered where I was. This had to be the location of the scenario, but I couldn't really distinguish where I was. Piles of garbage, the place looked like a dump with all sorts of things. From broken toys to what seemed to be a radioactive waste.

This place sucked.

With my hands in my pockets, I looked around a little bit more. That's when I noticed, my pockets were super small. Uncomfortably small, I looked down. Those were not my pants. I only wore cargo pants -- I enjoyed having pockets for everything -- so it was weird to see these tighter pants around my legs.

Looking down, I also noticed the lack of my school uniform and my bare chest. I hadn't noticed because the place I was in missed any form of moving air, but my clothing was flashy and stood out like a sore thumb. I took the jacket off immediately and threw it to the side. Whatever was on my hand buzzed.

"Who the hell would wear something like that?!" I yelled in a low tone of voice, "Too flashy, jeez." It even had fur around its collar. I sighed and stared at the thing I held, as I expected, it was a phone.

Looking down to stare at the phone, I noticed the outrageous shoes I was wearing. "What's with the weird zig-zag pattern? Are those belts?" I had so many questions, but one thing at a time. I looked at the phone's screen, and the app from the white room appeared. The icon of the Old man appeared, dancing -- this loading screen was outrageous.

The app loaded and I was met with a solid blue screen with appearing white text in italics.

Welcome to the world of Hunter x Hunter! This world was chosen as your first to get you familiarized with your Nen! Your Mission will be issued soon!

That made sense. I should definitely try to become a hunter, that way someone is forced to teach me nen... if they find me to be worthy. As your average Joe, I feared the hunter exam. The first three phases put too much toll on my physical body, the fourth boosted any paranoia I might have to the extremes, and the fifth was a tournament... as an average Joe, I have zero fighting experience. I've done martial arts here and there, but everyone knows that real-world martial arts can't do anything against bullshit ninja martial arts in anime. I wasn't boxing with Killua any time soon... I didn't want to die young.

"Ok, maybe becoming a hunter is a no-go... I should try to find a teacher like Zushi... how is the question." It was in the middle of my pondering that I noticed I hadn't asked the most important question. Not where I was, nor how I would get food or make a living, but rather "Wait... when am I?" The question popped in out of nowhere in my mind and struck like lightning.

My Phone buzzed, and like a proper modern person, I dropped whatever I was thinking of, and checked the notification, simultaneously checking to see what would happen next, and trying to suppress the sheer fear swelling inside my body as I considered the possibility of me being in the middle of the Chimera Ant arc in NGL.

Another blue screen with text slowly appeared on the screen.
