Percy, realizing Oceanus had no intention of fighting fair and was willing to attack when his back was turned, gave Oceanus no time to bring his trident back for another attack. As soon as Oceanus's trident was deflected away from Percy, he spun and brought himself inside Oceanus's guard. He brought Riptide up in a faint to Oceanus's trident arm, which the titan fell for before changing direction and leaving a gash from the titan's hip down to his kneecap across his thigh. Oceanus grunted in pain but was a trained warrior and knew how to ignore the pain long enough to get out of Percy's range with Anaklusmos. Oceanus fainted a swipe at Percy's head. However, Percy saw straight through it and brought his sword to deflect the coming stab at his stomach. Oceanus changed direction for the stab at Percy's stomach, just like Percy expected. He deflected the stab and was able to stagger the titan of the sea long enough to get back inside his guard and too close for Oceanus to use his trident. Percy took Riptide and stabbed Oceanus in the stomach before bracing his feet on the titans stomach and pushing off into a backflip out of his range. The pain made Oceanus angry and sloppy. They fought matching blow for blow neither being able to land a hit for several minutes while their armies watched in a mix of fear, anger, awe, and happiness as they watched the red and gold blood flow from the other's wounds. All it took was one mistake and the fight was over. Oceanus overextended on a stab towards Percy's leg, his eyes went wide as he instantly recognized the mistake but was too slow to recover from it and save himself from the Sea Prince's fury. Percy capitalized on Oceanus's mistake, running in quickly and decapitating the titan before he could react.

The monster army looked on in shock as they saw the Prince of the Sea standing over the dissolving body of their leader. However, they were quickly pulled away by the power of Oceanus's oath. The army of mermen and sea creatures stared at their prince in awe at his display of skill while his brother and father looked on with pride. The army erupted into cheers of victory and happiness. Percy vapor traveled over to his father, where Triton and Amphitrite swiftly joined them as they celebrated their victory over Oceanus. The army dispersed to their barracks and the House of Poseidon returned to the palace for some much needed rest and so that Amphitrite and Triton could help bandage Percy's wounds. Poseidon made an announcement to the army shortly after returning that they would take the rest of that day and the next to heal the wounded and get some rest before there would be a meeting at the amphitheater the day after to discuss plans for the rebuilding of the damaged parts of the city.

Once Percy's wounds were bandaged he went and found Tyson and gave his little brother a hug for fending off some of the larger monsters from the main portion of the city where they had all of the children take shelter so that they wouldn't be hurt by the onslaught. Percy spent the rest of the day hanging out with Tyson and returned to the palace that night to find his family waiting for him. Once Percy was safely back in the palace they all went their separate ways for bed so that they could get some rest before the meetings tomorrow.

The next morning, they had meetings with the Cyclopes and the Mermen to discuss rebuilding procedures for the damaged portions of the city. It was decided that the Cyclopes would handle rebuilding and strengthening the city's walls and overall defenses with the help of the Kraken, while the Mermen would get to work rebuilding the damaged homes and roads with the help of the sharks. Percy went around that day supervising the Cyclopes and helping out however he could. Triton was with the Mermen aiding them and their parents were going between the two trying to calm the citizens and help them settle back into their homes and daily lives.

A few days later, Poseidon got called to a meeting on Olympus. Zeus said, "Bring Perseus. There is much the council would like to discuss with him." Poseidon didn't trust his brother for a second and neither did his family. "I don't like this," said Triton, "It feels like a trap." "I agree," Poseidon nodded his head, "but I don't have a choice, Percy has to come." "Then I'm going too." Triton stepped forward and put his hand on his little brother's shoulder. Percy looked up and glared at him, "I can protect myself Triton, I don't need a bodyguard." Triton smiled and said, "Who said I was going to be a bodyguard. Someone has to stop you from destroying the throne room if they piss you off, which they probably will." Percy blushed and whispered under his breath, "Zeus would probably kill me before I could bring it down." Poseidon heard him, smiled, and said, "He wouldn't dare try to kill you." Percy just looked up at his father confused. Poseidon's smile just got bigger, "You'll see," he said.
