The Hogwarts choir sings to greet the new year once they finish everyone starts clapping while Dumbledore approaches his podium. "Welcome! Welcome to another year at Hogwarts. Now I'd like to say a few words before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast. First, I'm pleased to welcome Professor R.J. Lupin who's kindly consented to fill the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Good luck professor."
Remus stands and gives an awkward bow as the room claps unenthusiastically bar the trio who smile at the man who saved them. "Of course. That's why he knew how to give you the chocolate, Ada." Hermione says.
The whole room claps with more enthusiasm this time. "Wooo, that's my handsome husband!" Sirius cheers as Ada does the same. "That's my dad!" Remus smiles brightly as a slight blush coats his cheeks.
Suddenly their clapping was interrupted by a certain blonde boy. "Potter. Potter. Is it true you fainted? I mean you actually fainted?" Draco laughs along with his goons. Mattheo who was sat opposite him kicked him in the shin causing Draco to wince. "Shove off, Malfoy." Ron sneers turning Ada with him.
"Sorry Potter." Draco apologizes once again. Ada just waves him off saying that it was fine. Sure he was a little shit but to be fair to him, he didn't know the reason to why she passed out.
"Great, how did he find out?" Ada grumbles. "Just forget it." Hermione tells her with a sympathetic smile. "It was probably your new friend." Ron snarked under his breath but Ada heard and gave him a dirty look.
The three look back at the headmaster "Our Care of Magical Creatures has decided to retire in order to spend more time with his remaining limbs. Fortunately, I'm delighted to announce that his place will be taken by none other than our own Rubeus Hagrid." The room erupts into clapping and cheering especially from a certain trio. Hagrid stands up pushing the table infornt of him.
"Finally, on to more disquieting note as the request of the Ministry of Magic, Hogwarts will until further notice, play host to the dementors of Azkaban, until such a time as Sirius Black is captured." The students start whispering due to this information.
"Yet another thing the Ministry has fuck up." Mattheo grumbles though everyone can hear him. "What do you mean Mr. Riddle?" Madam Bones asks in curiosity. "Oh I don't know. Maybe sending a bunch of dementors, which suck out all of your happiness, to a school with a bunch of 11 to 18 year olds. Not to forget the first year muggle-borns who probably have no clue to what a dementor is. Oh yeah and there's the fact that no one was taught the Patronus spell unless you were in the right year. Sure it's a difficult spell but you left everyone defenseless in a place where they were suppose to be safe." Mattheo says sarcastically. He hated the dementors, they almost killed Ada a handful of times. And if it wasn't for Remus teaching her the patronus spell Ada and Sirius would've been dead.
Amelia nods and furiously writes in her note book agreeing with the boy. She knew sending the dementors was a bad idea, yet no one listened to her when she brought it up. McGonagall looks towards the boy holding a proud smile. It wasn't often that he spoke up like this, though dating Ada has really brought him out of his shell. She remembered when all he did was glare at anyone not saying a word and just getting on with his work. And yes he still does this but only when he's not with his other half. She noticed when Mattheo Riddle was with Ada Potter they both shone brighter then the sun.
"The dementors will be stationed at every entrance to the grounds. Now whilst I've been assured that their presence will not disrupt our day-to-day activities a word of caution. Dementors are vicious creatures. They'll not distinguish between the ones they hunt and the one who gets in their way. Therefore I must warn each and every one of you to give them no reason to harm you. It is not in the nature of a dementor to be forgiving."
