Keegan's POV

When I get to the dock I see my family and friends sitting in the public gallery.

"All rise" Everyone rises

The judge comes in and sits down

"Please be seated"

"Can the defendant stand" the judge says

"Can you please state your full name, current address and date of birth"

"Keegan Kayden Baker, 23 Albert square, 15th September 2001"

"You may sit down"

"We are going to hear opening statements from the prosecution and the defence side. Can the prosecution go first"

"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the defendant is charged with the murder of Saddie Owen. We will prove that the defendant had motive and opportunity to commit the crime, and that he did so with premeditation and malice aforethought. We will present eyewitness testimony, forensic evidence, and motive as evidence linking the defendant to the crime."

"Opening statement for the defence side"

"Your Honour, my client is innocent until proven guilty. We will show you  that there is reasonable doubt as to his involvement in this crime. We will present evidence that the eyewitness testimony is unreliable, that the forensic evidence is inconclusive, and that there is no motive for my client to have committed the crime."

"Your Honour, at this time the prosecution would like to call its first witness, Avon Kelly.

"I swear that the evidence I shall give will be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth"

The prosecution goes first

"So where were you on the night of 7th May 2019"

"Home watching telly"

"All night?"

"Yeah"

"So you didn't go out?"

"No"

"Then, I have no further questions your Honour"

Defence

"You said you were at home all night so how could you have possibly recorded the attack?"

"I didn't"

"But you did you came to police station on 8th May 2019 at 8 a.m. with the recording of the murder"

"Well you must've got it wrong"

"The murder happened around 6:45-7:15p.m and you must have recorded it at that time"

"Ok I was at the Minute Mart and I saw what he was doing"

"Why lie?"

"Didn't want to look guilty"

"And by lying it makes you look more guilty"

"No further questions your Honour"

Tiffany takes the stand

Prosecution

"I swear that the evidence I shall give will be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth"

"Mrs. Butcher where were you on the 7th May 2019"

"In the pub"

"And what time did you leave"

"At around 8"

"No further questions your Honour"
