III - Awake

Astrid's POV

I woke up when i felt someone rubbing my head. I immediately lifted my head up and saw Raixi smiling at me.

"Rai." I said and i hugged her. She chuckled and she hugged me back.

"Was i... asleep for too long again?" She asked and i nodded.

I looked at her and my tears fell on my cheeks. She looked worried and wiped my tears.

"Hey, don't cry. Im awake na, mahal." She said and i nodded.

"Hold on, i'll call the doctor." I said as i stood up but she held my hand.

"Shouldn't you give me my kiss first?" She asked as i chuckled and rolled my eyes playfully.

I moved closer to her and gave her a kiss before i called the doctor here.

"Raixi! Hey!" The doctor said and Raixi smiled.

"Your still joyful as always, doc." Raixi said and he chuckled.

"Your handsome doctor will check on you for a few minutes while your girlfriend messages your family about this." He said and Raixi nodded.

I did messaged them. I messaged her mother first and im sure the news already went to her whole family. Kahit sa message lang, tita looks so excited.

I messaged mom din and they were happy about it. They'll visit here tomorrow. For today, only Raixi's family will visit since it's their right to do so.

"Well, Raixi seems fine. It's because of your girlfriend, isn't it?" He said.

"Of course. She's the first person i saw when i woke up, who wouldn't be happy to see a beautiful women beside them when they just woke up?" Raixi said and we laughed.

"Bolera." I said.

"No lies." Raixi said.

"What time did you wake up? Im sure you still know how to read the clock." He said.

"I woke up around seven. I couldn't wake Astrid agad kasi she looks tired." Raixi said.

"One of my nurses saw her still awake by 1 am." Doctor Vargas said.

"Astrid." She said as i chuckled.

"I was excited, ok?! You know me when i get too excited, i won't be able to sleep." I said and they laughed.

Doctor Vargas talked to Raixi for a few minutes, checking on her. After that, they left.

"Come." Raixi said patting the space beside her and i sat beside her on her bed.

"Are you hungry?" I asked and she shaked her head.

"How long was i in coma?" She asked.

"Four days, mahal." I said and she sighed. I looked at her and she's looking down.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Did i make you guys cry again?" She asked as i sighed. She's worried.

"Mahal, it's normal naman. Of course, we're worried for you pero it all went away when you woke up. We're all happy now that you're awake." I said.

"Masyado na ba akong pabigat sa inyo, Astrid?" She asked.

"Hey, don't say that. Ano ba. You're not a burden to us, Rai. Look, we're all here taking care of you because we want to do so. We love you, Rai. We want you to stay longer, kaya nga inaalagaan ka namin, 'di ba? We already talked about this. You'll never be a burden to us, especially to me. We're all willing to help you here. Don't think that way, mahal." I said and she nodded.

Everytime she thinks this way, we would always talk to her. Even if it'll takes us hours to explain to her, we will. We're scared na if she thinks this way for too long, it might be the reason for her to give up because she thinks na nahihirapan kami dahil sa kaniya.

"Please stop thinking that way. Hinding hindi ka magiging pabigat sa'min. I already told you this for a lot of times now, mahal." I said.

"I just can't help it. Why still help me if i'll di-"

"I don't want to hear it, Rai. Lumalaban tayo 'di ba? Lalaban tayo 'di ba?" I said.

"Yes, of course. I'll stay. I'll stay longer. Hindi ko kayo iiwan, mahal." She said that made me smile.

"That's what i wanted to hear." I said and i hugged her.

"I love you." She said.

"I love you more, mahal ko." I said as i looked at her and she gave me a kiss on my lips.

Then i remembered the toys the i bought.

"Oh wait. May mga binili ako for us to play with, mahal." I said as i went off her hospital bed and took my bag.

I sat on the chair and opened my bag.

"Mahal, bumili ka nanaman? Didn't i tell you not to spend too much on these things?" She said.

"Hey, don't be a kill joy!" I said as i took out the toys that i bought.

I bought uno cards, chess, scrabble, the alligator teeth game and some lego that we can build. Oh and the lie detector.

"Mahal, ang dami naman niyan." She said and i chuckled.

"It's fun." I said.

"What do you want to play first?" I asked and she looked at the toys in my bag.

"Scrabble." She said.

"Be ready to lose then." I said and she scoffed.

I attached the table to her bed so that we can use it and i sat infront of her.

We started the game and after a few minutes, her silly self came.

"Five letters." She said as she looked at her letters and laughed.

She placed pen!s on the board.

"Hey!" I said and she laughed harder. Im sorry but i laughed with her. This is too funny for me.

"Oh you want to play that way? Sige Rai." I said as i placed four letters on the four letter word.

Her eyes widen and we both laughed. I spelled out 'fuck'. She then continued the game and all the bad words came out so we had to change the game.

"Why would you spell penis in tagalog?!" I said and she laughed.

"Hey it's pronounced as 'tayt' , madumi lang ang isip mo." She said.

"Oh sure, make more useless excuses." I said and she just laughed harder.

It's good to see her laugh like this. It's obvious that she's happy. You can always see it in her eyes. Her eyes never lies.

We tried the other games and well, we laughed and joked around in every game we played.
