CHAPTER 5

DIAMOND'S POV

It's been two weeks since I've been on a date with Dante and I haven't heard from him. He could've just told me that he aren't interested in me, rather than told me that we will have a second date. That's why I don't date, because all the men are the same. Make promises and don't do it.

"Hey, girl are you okay?" Cindy asked. "Yes, I'm fine just tired" I lied. I don't want her to think that I'm day dreaming about Dante. But, I think it's for the best that nothing will happen between the two of us. Ding.. that's the door, but I didn't look up to see who enter the diner. "Hi" the person said and that voice sound all too familiar. I looked up and saw Dante standing in front of me with a smile. I gave him a blank look and asked "hi sir, what can I get you" with no emotion in my voice. He looked taken back by my words and said that he needs his usual. While I'm busy preparing he's coffee I can feel his eyes on me the whole time. But, I don't dare to look back. What does he think of himself to come here with all smiles ? After he fuckin ghosted me for two weeks? When I was done with his coffee I turned around and gave him his coffee. "That will he 2 dollars sir" I said. He looked at me and asked "Diamond is something wrong ? Did I do something wrong?" He asked. "No" I said and went into the kitchen.

DANTE'S POV

I am dumbstrucked with Diamond's attitude. I know that I haven't contacted her for the past two weeks, but the fuckin Russian Mafia has been stealing our shipments so I had to take care of things. I can't tell her that I am a mafia leader, because I know for sure that she will have nothing to do with me. When she returned from the kitchen and still saw me standing at the counter she asked "do you need anything else sir" with a fake smile. "Look Diamond, I'm sorry that I haven't contacted you in the last two weeks. But I have been busy with work" I said. Fuck, I never explained myself to someone, but Diamond is something else. I want her in my life. No, I NEED her in my life. "You could've just sent me a message and said that you were busy or that you are no longer interested" she said. I looked at her with wide eyes. Not interested? "No, Diamond I'm still very much interested. What about a date tomorrow" I asked. She looked at me and said "I will let you know if I'm available tomorrow" she said. I nod my head and said "okay I will wait for your message. I have to go. See you" I said with a smile and left. This woman is something else.

DIAMOND'S POV

He made me wait for two weeks, and I will make him wait for a month. I smirked at my plan. Never mess with me Dante.

4 hours later

I picked up my sister from daycare and decide to spoil her for an ice cream. "How about some ice cream Maya" I asked her. "Yes sissy, please" she said with a joyful smile and jumps up and down. "Come on" I said. We walked to the ice cream shop that are not far from my apartment. "What flavour would like" I asked her as we stand in front of the many flavours. "This one" she points to the strawberry flavour. I got vanilla ice cream. I paid for the ice cream and we left, heading home. When we got home I prepared dinner for the two of us. When I was done, I washed the both of us and then we had our dinner. After dinner, I read her a story till she felt asleep. I put the lights off and went to dream land.
