As the excitement of the group grew they advanced through the door. The moment they stepped in, the door shut itself behind them and a corridor is instantly lit as candles with blue flames on the ceiling came to life and paintings of Merlin could be seen on each side of the wall, from the first time Merlin met King Arthur to the moment of Merlin's death every panting depicted a story of his life.

Hey look, he's petting a dragon, said Arthur.

Yeah, and that's not any dragon, it's the most dangerous breed of all, an Hungarian Horntail, said Maya.

Wait, you're telling me that Merlin tamed one of those? Asked Adrian.

Well, in times past it was said that Merlin tamed a dragon, the most powerful of them all actually. He would say that that dragon was his loyal companion no matter what other people would think of it. Unfortunately, he never said how he tamed it, especially because a few years after, in a fight against Morgana, the evil witch, she killed the dragon and from that day on he did not try to tame another nor did he speak of such. Explained Maya.

That's sad, said Arthur placing a hand on the painting and watching the happiness in the dragons eyes.

Hey, look here! It's a unicorn, said Lilibet placing her hand on a painting that had Merlin relaxing in a tree with two kids riding a unicorn alongside him.

Wow it's gorgeous! They are known to be a creature of the enchanted kind because, you know, they are one the rarest creatures in the worlds. And this particular one I bet is the Unicorn that took care of the children of the realm after Merlin saved him from poachers, the creature was always seen around the children protecting them from any harm. Merlin would say in his journals that he was the kindest creature he ever encountered, said Maya with a smile.

Look here, it's a Manticore! It looks so cool! Said Adrian glued to a painting that depicted Merlin in a fierce battle alongside Sir Cadogan against the creature.

Well did you kno- as Maya was about to speak when she was quickly cut off by Adrian.

Yeah, yeah, I know that they are the shadows of untamed lands, as Manticore creatures were feared in wild and untamed places. Unfortunately it's hard to find such places and consequently Manticores as well, explained Adrian.

They look creepy, said Lilibet.

I know, but nevertheless they were remarkable beasts, it's a shame so many of them where hunted by poachers for their tails. After this fight where Merlin is even using incendio the Manticore was tamed by him, believe it or not, and he kept it in the dungeons of King Arthurs castle as the beast felt more at home there and it became the loyal treasure protector like Merlin used to call it, said Adrian.

OMG IT'S A GRIFFIN! Screamed Maya putting herself against the painting with her hands depicting Merlin and King Arthur bowing to the beast and her bowing in response.

Griffins were often depicted as guardians of treasures and sacred places. You know of the gates of ancient kingdoms and in some readings of Merlin he said that the Griffin was one of the first magical creatures to be accepted by King Arthur, and for some time he was one of the guardians of his castle. Explained Adrian.

Yes, and it's soo awesome! King Arthur and Merlin used to call him the valiant castle guardian, said Maya.

I want to tak- said Maya as she started to take off the painting but was immediately pulled by the neck by Adrian and Arthur.

But... but please... pleaded Maya

NO! said both Adrian and Arthur in unison and they pulled Maya, and alongside Lilibet advanced through the door at the end of the corridor.
