"Killian slow down! This dress is not made for running!" Alira said between her laughs and smiles.
"Oh come on Princess! Its not much further, just follow me!" Said Killian, holding her hand as he leads her up the castle stairs and through the corridors.

Princess Alira Evangeline Valentine, youngest daughter of the ruling monarchs, King James and Queen Lenora.

And then theres Prince Killian, Killian Lunaris, A prince of the neighbouring nation. And Alira's closest friend. It's been that was for as long as they can remember. They've barely spent a day apart. And when they're not with eachother, they're sending letters, or talking to someone about the other.

So currently, Alira is at the Lunaris family castle, and like always, Killian is dragging her off somewhere to see something. This castle is nowhere near as big as her's, but she loves it. Killian's kingdom, Xerea, is known for its beautiful scenery and gardens. Two things Alira absolutely loves.
Alira's Kingdom, Seraphim, is known for its architecture and its food.

"You're going to make me fall Killian!" She laughs, wondering where the actual hell he's dragging her too.
"Well if you fall i'll just have to catch you!" He says with that stupid grin he has.

Killian Alexander Lunaris, is 19, and a royal pain. He has beautiful curly black hair and brown eyes, and beautiful olive skin. He's tall, relatively muscular, he's the male model of Xerea. And he's got a stupid dorky smile on his face, it make's Alira want to give him a not so hard punch to she shoulder. He's wearing a nice button up shirt and corset, a sort of suit-thing. Its crimson red and gold, along with his golden, ruby encrusted crown.

Alira Evangeline Valentine, is 18, and not as much of a pain. Shes got short fluffy ginger hair and bright blue eyes, her skin is snow pale and covered in freckles. Shes dainty and elegant looking. Shes also wearing a nice gown; a beautiful light blue and silky one, along with her silver crown encrusted with sapphires. An absolute pain to wear.

They're so differnet, yet so alike. Alira is more partial to books, art, things like that. She would love to simply spend her days sitting in a nice gazebo reading a long novel or some poetry and ignoring the world.
Meanwhile, Killian find's all of that dull. He enjoys going out into the forests, sports, social gatherings and people, not to mention he's loud.

But when they're together, they might aswell be one person, sharing laughs, running through the castle together, sneaking out and annoying the guards, or going out into the city.

But they're not lovers.
God forbid that happens. It would be weird.
Despite the kingdoms knowing just how close they are, and thinking they're dating already.
They're not.
To Killians dismay and Alira's favor.

After being dragged for far too long, they arrive in one of the turrets. The roof is a glass dome, theres a telescope, books and scrolls, comfy furniture.
An astronomy tower.
In all Alira's years of going to this castle, she had never seen this before. So she got confused.
She looked back at him, confused at this.

"I had it built for you. I remember you mentioned that your castle had one and mine didn't- So i thought y'know, you could spend your time here if you wanted to. I know you like all that nerdy stuff-" Killian said with a shy grin, his hand on the back of his head arkwardly as he smiles at her.

Alira looked at him with awe.
"You built this all for me?"

"Yeaah, i did- i know if you don't like it thats fine- I just thought-" His words are cut off by her hugging him tightly.
"Thank you so much for this- i can't thank you enough." She says with a bright smile as she hugs him. He hugs her back with a laugh.
"Glad you like it, Princess."

The night sky shone above them. Glistening stars, the moon, and her.
He just loved looking at her. Killian could stare at her for hours and not get bored. He watched as she explored the astronomy tower with a bright smile, as she tried out the telescope, as she rushed around the room having the time of her life.

As she rushed around, he grabbed her by the waist with a sly smirk, his arm around her waist and his hand in hers. Alira lets out a little yelp of suprise and she laughs, smiling at him.
"What was that for?" She asks inbetween her laughter.

"A dance, my Princess?" Killian said teasingly.
She hates when he calls her that. But he loves it.
He loves it so much.
She smirks at him.
"Well sure, my knight." She says with a little smirk.

My knight.
Thats what Alira has always called him.
The day they met, that fateful day when they were oh so young. Killian was running around with a sword with the palace knights. She thought he was a knight, not a prince of the neighbouring nation who she had been told to go find.

So he pulled her close and started to dance with her, dancing under the stars in that tower they have all to themselves.

Just the two of them, laughing and smiling as they dance. Their joy the only thing that breaks the silence of the night.

Their love being the only thing that went unspoken.

But their joy? It was for the world to hear.

They danced the night away together, laughing and smiling, occasionally Killian picked her up and twirled her around like she weighed nothing to him, making her laugh and smile.

When they were too tired to dance, neither of them wanted to walk all the way back down the palace stairs. So they took a place on the lovely velvet couch, a blanket wrapped over them as they fell asleep, arms around eachother as they slept peacefully under the stars.

Together.
