"TODAY IS FIELD DAY" SAID MR MARTIN WITH A SMILE, looking around the circle at the group of teens. Wally cheered jumping up from his seat, pulling Kat up with him, dancing around in his spot, hand in hand with Kat.

Kat giggled, watching Wally's excitement with a smile.

"Settle down now" said Mr Martin with a small smile. Wally sat down, pulling Kat down with him. "I'll teach you how to drive the golf cart today" He said, leaning in to whisper in her ear.

Her eyes sparkled, even though she was only thirteen, she always wanted to drive a car, and today was her lucky day.

Laying in the grass, side by side, Wally and Kat look to the clouds, trying to find the coolest shape. "Look!" Said Kat "A dinosaur!" She exclaimed, a bright smile on her face. "Where? Where?" Said Wally, looking intently at the clouds.

"There!" Said Kat, pointing to the sky. "Ah, I see it" said Wally, looking at Kat's bright smile.

He in fact, did not see it. He simply played along to keep the young girl happy.

Arguing interrupted the happy moment. The two teens sat up with speed, quickly glancing at each other as they scrambled to their feet, running towards the noise.

"You can talk to the living!" Yelled Rhonda, pointing her finger accusingly at Maddie. "Not everyone, just Simon!" She said trying to justify her doing.

Charley looked between the two nervously. "Why do you look so guilty?" Rhonda said, snapping her gaze over to Charley, who looked down playing with his hands.

"Oh my god you knew!" Said Rhonda, a look of betrayal lingering in her eyes. "Okay, okay, guys, just calm down" Said Wally, trying to ease the ongoing argument.

"How are you so calm right now?" Said Rhonda. "Trust me I'm not, I'll be angry later" he said brushing the question off.

Katharine stood there as they continued to argue, looking around to each one of them, as she thought of her parents, arguing every night, when they thought she was asleep.

She could feel her breath increasing as her hands became sweaty. Wiping them on her trousers, she began to feel hot, looking down, while tapping her fingers against her trousers, trying to steady her breathing.

Wally looked over, noticing the silence from the youngest member. His eyes widening as he realised what was happening.

Rushing over, he quickly kneeled down slightly, reaching her eye level. "Hey, hey, it's okay sweetie, it's okay, just focus on my breathing, okay?" He said in an attempt to calm the youngest's breathing.

"Th-they're yelling" she stuttered out while closing her eyes tightly, her hands in fists by her side.

"Guys" He tried.

"Guys" He tried again.

"Guys!" He yelled, ceasing they're argument.

They looked over, wide eyed, studying the scene before them.

Quickly understanding, they began to part ways, not before Rhonda said "this isn't over" pointing her finger at Maddie as they parted ways, leaving Wally and Katherine at the bus stop.

"Follow my breathing, okay sweetie?" He said as he inhaled deeply, exhaling seconds later. After a couple of minutes, her breathing was back to normal, though she was still a bit shaken.

Bringing her in for a hug, he rested his chin on top of her head, as she burried her face into his chest, rubbing her back, she tightened her grip on him.

"Let's get you something from the teachers lounge, okay?" He said with a small smile, pulling back. Smiling back, Kat grabbed his hand as they walked into the school and towards the teachers lounge.
