Morning... I slowly got up out of bed and stretched, hoping to get rid of the tiredness I still felt.

"Another day of aimlessly trying to do... something?"
I quietly spoke to myself as I got ready for the day.

I'm from the city, and honestly, even though this is much better than the city was.
It's definitely harder.

I slowly opened my door.
Only to find... a woman standing there. She had lovely brown braided hair and a very kind smile on her face.

"Hello, my name is Marnie.
I live on the ranch not to farm from here, and I sell farm animals and supplies for caring for them."
It took me a second to get everything through my head as I was exhausted still.

"It's nice to meet you, Marnie.
My name is Y/n. Did you drop by just to introduce yourself?
I'm sorry I have dropped by myself." I felt a bit guilty as I haven't yet even gone to that side of Stardew Valley.

"Oh no, it's alright dear.
I'm sure you've been busy.
I actually stopped by to mention I found this animal at the edge of the farm, and they seem to like it here."

(You choose if it's dog or cat.)

My eyes lit up, and I crouched down to the animals level.

"Arent you just the cutest thing I've ever seen." I pet it and adored it before quickly standing back up.

"I can take them in!" I quickly responded before she even had a chance to talk. This seemed to make her laugh a bit at my eager enthusiasm for taking care of the animal.

"Alright, I'm glad they have such a caring person looking after them. Come by if you need anything dear."
I waved goodbye as she walked away then looked down at the animal.

"What should I name you? Hmm... oh, I know! I'll name you p/n." (pets name)

I gave them food and water and then quickly got to taking care of my plants.

After I was done with that, my exhaustion had increased. But... I need to go to Robin's house. I mentally sighed, then got walking. I spaced out on the way there, and before i knew it I reached the door.

Since she was still open, I headed in.

"Y/n! It's nice to see you drop by." She had her usual sweet smile on her face.

"Yeah, I'm sorry I didn't drop by yesterday like I said I would." She smiled.

"It's alright, I hope you had a nice time looking around town!" I nodded. My eyes trailed to the stairs that led to Sebastian's room.

"Did you want to go see Sebastian?" She must have followed my gaze.

"Um, no. I'm sure I'll see him around." She seemed a bit confused but let it pass.

"I actually have some things I need to do. It was nice seeing you again Robin." We said our goodbyes, and I left the house.

I honestly didn't want to deal with any of the guys today, but of course, that is stupid to expect.

"Hey Y/N." Sam walked up to me, a genuine smile on his face.

"Hi Sam." I smiled back before walking towards town.
He trailed beside me.

"How are you doing today?"
I kept my eyes focused forward, being careful not to show my slight discomfort.

Maybe I should give him a chance and hang out with him today? Don't

"I'm doing alright, actually.
I finished what i had to do today if you would like to hang out." He beamed at the offer.

"I'd love to hang out!"

So then we went to the tree we met at.

"You remember when we first met, right?" I simply nodded my head.

"That was an exciting day."
Exciting?

"I mean I heard a new farmer moved in but I didn't know that you'd be so good looking."
His eyes were piercing into me, waiting to see me react.

"I- I uhh... thank you?"
I muttered the thanks like a question unsure of how to feel about his compliment.

"Y/N, how do you feel about the rest of the town so far?"

"I think this place is rather nice, most of the people I've met are quite friendly."
I looked to him with a small smile, to which he smiled back.

"I hope you do stay. Forever."
I flinched a bit at his tone.

"I've only been here four days.
I don't see why I'd leave."
I looked out at the river in front of us. It flowed so smoothly.

"Hey, Y/N!" I turned to see my blue haired friend.

"Emily, hello." Sam and me both stood up.

"Its nice to see you." Her eyes darted between me and Sam, a somewhat frightened look on her face.

I looked at her a bit confused and then turned to Sam, but he was just smiling.

"Are you ok, Emily?" I walked over to her a bit worried.

"Y-Yeah! I'm alright. I just wanted to ask if you wanted me to show you around the other side of town today?"
Her eyes seemed pleading for me to go with her.

"I would actually love that.
Sam, I'm gonna go with her for a bit. I'll see you later?"
He kept his smile as he waved goodbye. At least until we weren't looking.

"Y/n, you should be careful."
I looked at her a bit confused.

"What do you mean?
Why should I be c-"

"Hello." We stopped walking when we heard the greeting.
A man I haven't met before stood in front of us.

His black hair ; which seemed to have a somewhat purple tone to it ; was unkempt, along with his facial hair. He had dark bags under his eyes, and over all, he looked miserable.

"Hi." I was a little dumbfounded by this man's appearance. I forgot how to communicate.

"Who are you?" He spoke in a somewhat rude tone, but I shrugged it off.

"My name is Y/n. I moved into the farm up the path, and I'm just getting to know the town."
He seemed a bit uninterested at first, but now his green eyes were locked onto my E/c eyes.

"My name's Shane." He shoved past us and walked away.

"Well, that was a strange introduction." Emily was still looking at me a bit concerned.

We spent the rest of the day wandering around this area, which seemed more claimed by nature than most of the town.

"Hey Emily. About earlier, what were you telling me to be careful about?" Her smile that she had just a second ago faded into a frown.

"Those guys, they are acting strange. They-"

"Strange? I hope you aren't talking about me." Alex walked over to us with his hands in his pockets and a smug look on his face.

"Oh no, we weren't talking about you." Emily laughed nervously, then stood up from the edge of the old dock we that we were sitting on.

She gave me one last worried glance before turning to Alex.

"Well, I have to go. I have work soon." She walked rather quickly away.

Me and Alex were quiet for a moment before he walked over and sat beside me.

"Is everything alright, Y/n?"
He spoke very softly.

"Y-yeah. Everything's fine."
I gave him a reassuring smile.
He stared deeply into my eyes, it was almost frightening.

"You know I'd protect you, right?" I gave him a confused look.

"I-i guess that's nice to know.
The only dangerous thing around here is-"

"I mean it Y/n. I'll protect you."
I looked away from him as I stood up from the dock.

"W-well, I should get home now. It was nice seeing you, Alex." I turned to walk, hearing him whisper something under his breath, but I could only make out one word.

Mine.
