Bang! a car slams into the building just over the head of Rock Man.
"How dare you, you pathetic, disgraceful watery fiend!" screeched Rock Man.
"You're about to meet your watery grave. This will be your last battle. It's about time I killed an immortal being. Now the world will praise me rather than you fraud!", gargled Water Parasite.
Out of extreme rage, Rock Man picked up the nearest mountain, and slammed it on top of Water Parasite. When Water Parasite saw the mountain, he had no choice but to take the attack as a true hero would. Basking at his win over Water Parasite, he removed the mountain, to see his enemy crushed, and placed it on a child. To his surprise he saw a man, but unbeknownst to him, this was actually Water Parasite's host. A man named Eddie Brock, who, for the time being, was free from Water Parasite's grasp. Rock Man's mind was suddenly thrown back to one of his earliest memories.
It was a normal day for Dwayne Johnson, or as referred to by his school friends, The Rock. He was walking home from football practice when suddenly a bright light appeared. He shut his eyes in hopes it wouldn't blind him. When he opened his eyes, the light revealed an eldery man who looked like he had escaped from the loony bin. His cloak was a twinkly blue and his cap was pointed just as an elves would be. His face was the most disturbing aspect of him. When he looked at you, it was like looking into the eyes of a fierce beast, but also a man. His weathered face made you feel sorry for him, although he didn't look all that friendly. The man was soft spoken, but Dwayne could hear the two words escape from his mouth. "ROCK-MAN" Immediately Dwayne was blown to pieces, but reformed as a 44-foot, hideous behemoth with rocks clung to his body as if they were his skin. After all of this he was a changed man, he only had two words in his mind. These words were "Rock Man". This would be his new identity for the rest of time.
The man lay there looking unconscious. Rock Man, still in shock from his flashback, hesitantly said, "A man? W-w-w- whats this?" His voice trembled no matter how hard he tried to seem tough. Rock Man bent down to see if the man was breathing. As strange as it sounded, he felt pity for the man and wanted him to live. Rock Man leaned down to the man to check for signs of life. Just as he bent down, the man's eyes fluttered open. The first sight that caught Rock Man's attention was the man's captivated red eyes. His eyes twinkled as if he had just laughed at his own joke. The red around his pupils were absolutely stunning. His eyes were enchanting to the point where Rock Man couldn't bear to look away. They were magnificent.
For the first time since Rock Man had been cursed, his rocks crumbled away revealing his true true form, Dwayne Therock Johnson. His eyes were equally alluringly red, just as the man's were in front of him. Their eyes locked, for they had never seen another being with eyes of their color.
"Who are you?!" gasped the man.
"I am Rock Man, and you are Water Parasite?" Rock Man stated hesitantly.
"Huh? I'm Eddie Brock... and the Water Parasite thing is a long story" he said with his memories flooding back to him. In an instant, two chairs made of rock erupted from the ground.
Rock Man calmly sits and says, " We've got time"
"So this is what happened," said Eddie taking a seat for the long chat they were about to have.
" It all started when I was sixteen years old. I had a pal named Venom, after all he was my parasite. I trusted him and he trusted me. He was my best friend and I thought we had trust. One day he asked me to take him to the ocean, despite the fact that the owner of him told me to never let him near water, especially the ocean. But I trusted him, so I did, which was the biggest mistake of my life. In that moment when I first put my foot in the turf, he changed from my best friend to my worst nightmare. Water Parasite. For the next billions of years, he and I would be the destroyer of all good, the drowner of all humanity. "
"That's not terrifying at all", Dwayne said with humor twinkling in his eyes.
"I wish it wasn't. But you see, it most definitely is," Eddie responded somerby.
"So why are you a man right now? Why aren't you a huge beast. No offense or anything," Dwayne asked.
"None taken. Water Parasite was blown out of me when you crushed me with that mountain," Eddie explained with some irritation.
Dwayne inhaled sharply and said, "By the way, sorry about that. It's just we've been enemies for a long time and I felt that I should finally have the victory. You always get the victory."
"Yes, but it doesn't have to be that way. That is Rock Man and Water Parasite's rivalry, not ours," Eddie says boldly, but quickly blushes and turns away. Dwayne feels a surge of ambition and grabs Eddie's hand. Eddie is startled by this sudden affectionate gesture, but doesn't pull his hand away.
"I'll accept this under a few conditions," said Dwayne his face was serious but his eyes were eager, "the conditions are that there is no more fighting, you need to try to control Water Parasite, and that, if you accept, we could... be together."
Eddie just sat there with a surprised expression.
" Look, I know this is sudden. I've never been in love with anyone, not like this. I don't believe in love at first sight, but now I think I do" Dwayne said with a bright smile.
"But... I don't know you and you don't know me. I don't know if it would work. I mean we have been fighting for so long, without actually knowing each other. I don't know anything about you yet." Eddie stammered nervously.
"Well, we could get to know each other. I would be all for it because I feel that you are the one that I have been searching for the billions of years of my existence," Dwayne says while squeezing Eddie's hand tight, never wanting to let him go.
"There are some woods down the street from here. We could go if you'd like and catch up on the years that we have been fighting rather than sit here and make this awkward," Eddie suggested with a chuckle.
"I think I'd like that," Dwayne said with a smirk.
They both stood up, joined hands, and walked away from the destruction they had first caused, before truly understanding what a friend, or even more than a friend, could feel like. At the very beginning of their walk, Eddie slips and ungracefully falls into a puddle of mud. His shirt stained with the water and dirt. Dwayne offers a hand to help Eddie up. He is unaware of his great strength when he helps Eddie up and accidentally pulls him into and embrace. While the hug was appreciated greatly by both parties, the mud made it a little uncomfortable and Eddie laughs. But this moment is cut short by a horrid scream that they both immediately recognize as a child. In a flash they ran towards the shrieking child. When they approached the child, it immediately stopped crying, as if it were expecting them. Both Dwayne and Eddie were hit with a strange feeling. Dwayne looked into Eddie's precious red eyes. He knew what they must do. Dwayne was tired of being alone, for he had been alone for too many years.
"May we?" Dwayne asked while he pulled out the most glorious steel sword that retained all the spirits of the children he had once killed.
Eddie who knew of his signature symbol of defeating the powerless human beings responded with, "Of course we shall"
They each grabbed a part of the swords leather handle and, together, they stabbed the child. As they were taking in this moment, Dwayne snuck a glance at Eddie, expecting him to be looking away. To his surprise, Eddie held his glance and their eyes locked once again. As they stared into each other's ruby eyes, they lit up an enchanting crimson red. Although they had been alive for many many years, this is where their lives truly began, for they knew that for the first time in their lives, they had something to truly live for, each other.
