"So let's start off talking about the obvious: The demon."
"Right..." Shinobu began. "So we're here for the trial of a young demon girl -"
"Excuse me, Shinobu! But I don't think a trial is needed! She's a demon, after all!"
"I agree with Kyojuro..."
"Well, if you let me finish my sentence as to why we're holding a trial...."
Obanai and Kyojuro stopped.
"Thank you." Shinobu sighed before continuing. "Anyway, we're here for the trial of a young demon girl that was strangely found carrying a human with her."
"How exactly does THAT make her different, Shinobu?" Tengen objected. "She could've been saving him for a later snack."
"She could've been. Or she could've been protecting the human."
All the Hashiras fell silent. Of course, they're not gonna believe that.
"That's... impossible." Tengen protested. "Demons kill humans. So, how could that demon be different?"
"That's true. It's impossible. But there's a chance she recognized him by his scent, maybe."
"Shinobu, I don't mean to be rude, but this does sound a little absurd..."
Muichiro turned to look out the tall man and recognized Gyomei by his eyes and haori.
"I believe you, Gyomei. It does sound absurd. I refuse to believe it myself, but unfortunately, I was a witness."
"Wait, so you saw this demon with a human?!"
"Yes. Yes, I did. I was surprised, of course. And that's why I think we are in need of a trial."
"But Shinobu..." Mitsuri objected. "How would a demon even manage to get to the Butterfly Mansion....also I'm fairly sure you didn't have any missions that day, did you?"
All the Hashiras went silent. And then Shinobu's eyes darted to Muichiro. It was time for him to take the trial into his own hands.
"You're right, Mitsuri. I wasn't the one who found her. Isn't that right, Muichiro?"
The Hashira turned to look at Muichiro. He felt the panic begin to creep in. He didn't want to do this, but he knew he didn't have a choice. He had to do it. Nezuko was innocent, and he needed to prove it. He sighed, brushing away the panic that was trying to take over.
"That's right. I was the one who brought her here."
The Hashira gasped. It couldn't be helped, though.
"M..Muichiro...? What is this all about?!"
Muichiro couldn't blame Tengen for being so shocked. If Muichiro was in Tengen's shoes, he would be shocked, too.
"I just said. I brought her here."
"Mind explaining why?"
Muichiro could hear Kaburamaru hiss to Obanai's sentence, but he continued.
"She was acting... differently to that of an average demon. I was up in the mountain where a demon had reportedly been seen, and when I got up there, I found a house... but inside it was..."
Muichiro felt sick remembering the slaughtered family he found in that house.
"Inside it was?"
Obanai raised an eyebrow. Obanai seemed strangely more interested in what Muichiro had to say. Then again, it's not like every meeting is about holding trials for demons. The only demon they ever talk about in their meetings is Muzan Kibutsuji, which probably was getting a little bit boring after a while.
