Two years later

"Now playing this Valentines' season's top hit, 'Volcano' by HAN, a trailblazer from SKZ Entertainment."

Minho is bouncing up and down in the car's passenger seat with excitement. He gestures between Jisung and the radio with the energy of a puppy. It's a hazardous yet adorable distraction from driving, and Jisung welcomes it.

"Look, it's your song, Jisungie!" he squeals.

Jisung tries and fails to suppress an adoring grin. "I know. But it's more your song, babe. I wrote it for you."

"I know," Minho says smugly. "And no matter how much love it gets from your fans, no one will love it as much as I do."

They sit in silence, lost in the lyrics and entrancing music. Minho stops jumping in his seat, instead closing his eyes and leaning back to focus on his song. Each line evokes a beautiful memory featuring Jisung, and Minho embraces them all.

You were so warm when you hugged me tight

I guess I teared up for a moment, because it was the first time

The first time Minho heard the song, he asked Jisung about the meaning behind every line, and Jisung was happy to describe his lyrics in detail. This part was inspired by Minho sweeping Jisung off of his feet, holding him tight in a way Jisung had never experienced before, warmed by a beautiful stranger's kindness.

I'll protect you it's okay to hurt

I'll embrace the wounds you shed

To me, you're already a sin

I can't refuse because you're sweeter than evil


Apparently 'sweeter than evil' is Jisung's favourite description of his boyfriend. That and 'devil bunny', for some reason. Minho acts like he hates the nicknames, but he could never hate anything Jisung says, especially in his songs.

Unlike those who run away from you, I'll embrace you

Minho recalls crying at this pre-chorus. Jisung wasn't afraid to admit it - Minho had hurt him, of course, but Jisung still accepted him even after all the pain he went through. While anyone else would have refused his apology - would have given up on him - Jisung didn't abandon Minho. And for that, Minho is incredibly thankful.
