{Akira's POV}
I was getting lunch while everyone was staring at the new guy, Jake right? I figured that he was pretty cool to sit with given what had happened yesterday with him and those girls who have been making fun of me for a while. I walked up to the table, sat down, and asked him a question.

"Jake, right?" I asked now having his attention.

"Yeah, Akira right?" He said while looking a bit worried.

I gave him a smile. "Yeah."

"Are you doing okay on your first day?" I said while taking a bite of the 'cursed ham' they were serving today. The thing about Endor is that they make food that you would probably have for dinner as lunch.

He smiled at me a bit more relieved. "Yeah, but I'm honestly really surprised by myself because I haven't done any of this before and I seem to be doing stuff other people can do already." He seems a little bit agitated, but I assume it's from everybody else staring at him.

"Well, don't worry about it." I said before taking a sip of moon water. "It just means your enhancing fast, that's most likely a good thing."

He just seemed to smile at me. "Thanks Akira." he said before eating a piece of cursed ham too.

We chatted and I helped him with some stuff for potions, but he mostly could think it through with the text books he had. He was genuinely nice, but his aura seemed to be tired. I don't know what happened, but he seemed tired too he somehow also seemed awake though. Someone came around and took our empty plates to clean them. We both looked at the clock and realized that it was time for next period.

He was putting his stuff away. "Thanks for the help Akira."

"Of course, if you need any help, you can just find me in the lab." I replied while putting my stuff away too before we both got up and went our separate ways.

{Jake's POV} {After School}
I was working on the homework for my classes in the schools library. It was filled with bookshelves that stretched as tall as a two story building and they were painted white and had real gold trim. There was a view of the galaxy kn the roof focusing on the constellations. It was beautiful. It was also really quiet unlike Rosemeadow where the library was just as loud as the god damn gym all because people wouldn't shut up.

My phone was buzzing constantly, but I ignored it and kept on working on my homework. "This is MUCH better than Rosemeadow High." The only difference that I wasn't a hundred percent thrilled about was writing with quills or fountain pens, but that was easy to do because I had a calligraphy kit during middle school and kept it until last year.

I felt someone touch my shoulder. I turned around and saw Master Felix standing there. "How was your first day Jake?"

"It was great, but I'm doing better than I thought I would be." I said while looking at him still.

"Oh?" He pulled out a chair next to me using magic and not touching it. "Do inform me."

"He's treating me better than my dad has for the past few years." I smiled. "Well, you said that I wouldn't be as good as others yet, right?"

"Yeah, most new student aren't, why?" He said smiling, but still confused.

"Well, I was doing what others were doing and passed it even when other students that were here before me hadn't passed." I said while losing my smile from talking but also doing my homework.

He didn't say anything for a minute. "So you and Amethyst are similar despite being generations apart."

That caught my attention. "What do you mean?" I know Amethyst was my ancestor, but he didn't exactly specify that we were similar.

"Unordinary, you're both unordinary people." He said smiling. "Unordinary, amazingly talented people."

"Thanks Master Felix." I smiled again. "Dad doesn't even say that I'm talented at anything I do, and it's like he's being a father figure to me."

He was happy. "Well, I'll leave you to your homework, I'm glad you're doing well at this so far." He got up and pushed the chair in with his hands this time.

"Thanks Master Felix, I wish you could stay a bit longer, but you seem to have other places to be." I said lightly stretching my back.

He chuckled a little. "Well, I'm mostly checking to see if the lab is still intact." He said while rolling his eyes.

"Hey, cut Akira a little slack." I said while lightly giggling. "She's doing something that she's passionate about, and she's happy about it too."

He stopped and looked at me a little surprised, but it quickly formed into a pleased smile. "You actually know how she feels about her hobbies, and you stick up for her, that's more than some others have done for her." He said while slowly walking a away a little. "Thank you, Jake."

"Of course." I said loud enough for him to hear me, but quiet enough for the library.

{Master Felix's POV}
I started to walk away from Jake at normal pace now that our interaction was over. I'm happy that he sticks up for Akira at varying levels of intensity. I know every single other person that isn't in her family wouldn't do that, so even just this small amount of kindness, it's breathtaking. Let alone the fact that he seems to understand her passion for what she does.

I walked all the way to the laboratory, and I walked in to see Akira coding a bunch of stuff for a robot. "Hey Akira, is everything alright?"

"Huh, oh yeah!" She said while still working. "It's going great!"

"Alright, I was just checking in on you." I said while slightly backing away from here. She usually works alone. "I'll leave you be."

"Thanks Master Felix, you're the best." She said completely focused on her work.

I walk away from her and into the hall. "I should go to my office." I say as I start to walk my way to the office that I like to stay in.

{Jake's POV}
I was about to head to my dorm, but I had to ask Master Felix a question about something. I wanted to ask if there was any sort of way for me to get the information about demon magic. It's never mentioned in any books in a good way, but I want to know why we don't get to learn about it at all.

I found his office at the end of the hall. "I just hope I don't get yelled at for asking this kind of question." I was going to knock on the door, but I could've sworn I heard the faint sound of singing on the other side. I cracked the door open a little bit, and I saw Master Felix...

singing...

beautifully...
