7. I Love You

Pablo Gavi, hothead, aggressive, and, not scared to get into a fight over the ball on the field. That's how the public knows him, giving him the nickname 'Angry Bird' and making it seem like that's how he is.

However, what the media and fans fail to witness is his affectionate side, the side where Gavi wants nothing more than to show affection to everyone he knows and loves wanting to make sure they know just how much he cares about them. He doesn't hesitate to do anything in his power to make his loved ones happy.

Up until four months ago only his family and his closest friends got to see this Pablo, now another person joined this tight circle of loved ones. His girlfriend Y/N Y/L/N.

Meeting at a media event organized by Sky, they just clicked. Starting to meet up more and more over the next couple of months. And starting to date after what felt like a lifetime of pinning.

Y/N was Pablo's first serious girlfriend, being a professional athlete at a pretty young age he didn't have much time for a normal teenage life, he still had to learn a lot of things, but he was willing to learn anything to make Y/N happy.

Unlike Y/N, this whole relationship thing was a completely new territory for Pablo, making him often feel insecure about himself.

Today is one of those days where Pablo feels like an inexperienced kid again. Y/N and Pablo were strolling around Barcelona today when they ran into Y/N's ex. Y/N was upfront with Pablo about her past relationship, making it clear that it had ended without any lingering ties. She wanted to be transparent from the beginning.

But what she didn't mention was that he was older than her and looked way more mature than Pablo, making him question if she thought he was too immature. And after seeing how well Y/N and her ex still understood each other, he started to get scared she could leave him because he was too young and inexperienced in her opinion.

The whole time after the encounter Pablo grew kind of distant not being his affectionate and touch-starved self, concerning Y/N. But she decided to confront him when they are at his apartment again, knowing he feels the most comfortable there.

Returning home Pablo left his shoes in the hallway going to the living room without saying a word. Now Y/N knew something was definitely up, he normally always waited for her and didn't leave her side for the rest of the day.

Seeing him sitting on the couch with a frown on his face she decided to confront him. "Amor ... is everything ok?". Sitting beside him on the couch she waits for an answer. "Yeah ... just tired", murmurs Pablo not looking up from his phone.

Frowning Y/N looks at him not believing a single thing he says.

"Baby ... I know that's not true. Is it something I did ?" asks Y/N trying to make him look at her.

"No ... it's just-" Pablo sighs before continuing "Why did you choose me?". Looking Y/N in the eyes she can see how insecure he is about that.

Thinking for a few seconds Y/N responds, "Pablo I didn't choose you I fell for you. Because I love the way you fumble around with your shirt when you're nervous how I can make you blush with hugging you from behind. And I love how your whole face shines when you smile. Your shoulders are the perfect size for me to lay my head there and your hair gets curly and fluffy when you work out, and I love playing with it afterward." taking his hand she continues, " You may not be the most experienced person I know but you try really hard, you determination is one thing out of so many I admire about you. I love you Pablo Gavira and nothing or nobody is ever going to change that".

"Y-you ... love me?" this was the first time he heard her say that to him, looking at her surprised, she starts to chuckle at his surprised expression, "Of course, I do, how could I not".

Taking both of Y/N's hands and pulling her into him he whispers the words he wanted to say to her since he asked her to be his girlfriend into her ear, "I love you too amor ... so fucking much, you can't even imagine how much you mean to me."

Gasping lightly Y/N looks at Pablo holding his face in her hands she kisses him tightly, catching Pablo off guard. Kissing Y/N back he closes his eyes and enjoys the intimate moment between them. Hoping the two of them can share more of these moments together in the future.
