Not for Long (Quackbur)

(Wow two chapters In one day? No. This is just a short one. I wrote in it under a hour.)

Wilbur woke up with a tiny Tallulah attached to his torso and a Quackity gripping his arm. He slid his arm away. Quackity seemed to be asleep, and so did Tallulah. Wilbur looked down at Tallulah,

She was so peaceful when sleeping. Wilbur was sure his sleeps no longer had the ability to be peaceful. Either he got nightmares or random dreams that made no sense. He turned slightly and jumped when his face was only inches from Quackitys.

It reminded him of that night. The kiss. Was it real? No it couldn't be, Quackity just did it to completely destroy Wilbur's focus. But why would he be so happy when Wilbur asked if he needed a family? Maybe it was because Quackity was only planning on betraying him after he got his trust. It was odd but he kinda hoped it wasn't a lie and all fake even though it probably was. He wanted to fall victim to all the lies and just believe that they were a happy family with no problems whatsoever. He wanted to live in a fantasy.

He looked at Quackitys facial features. Wilbur felt jealous about how easily he slept after all the shit he has done. He took Wilbur's ability to have a peaceful sleep, but he doesn't sleep much anyway.

When he was back at the tower as a kid he would stay up with techno playing video games. Then techno left and started training to be a hero. Then Tommy came along and Wilbur would play video games with him, but Tommy's sleep schedule was no as fucked as him or technos so they didn't play into the night. Then Tommy would be busy most days with training. He didn't have anyone to play with most days. Techno was now a Full time hero and Tommy would play some days when he wasn't completely tired out from training. It made Wilbur a little concerned because it took a lot to tire the boy out. After awhile of not being able to sleep and staying up alone Phil found another son, Cheyanne. Cheyanne was fun to play with. They had fun rivalry between each other. Wilbur would try to beat him in games but Cheyanne was extremely competitive and talented just like techno.

He kinda missed them all, but he also felt kinda bad for Quackity. He's had to say goodbye to a lot of things and has had no support system until Tallulah. Even though it doesn't excuse the fact that he's killed, stolen, and kidnaped, Wilbur thought that maybe, just maybe he might be less dangerous and not feel the need to cause destruction if he had a good support system. Maybe this whole villain thing was a way to act out and release some pain. Whatever it was Wilbur believed that he was still a good person. Everyone is a good person, but they just make bad choices. He just needed to listen to his own advice he would give Tallulah and remember, everything takes time, patience, and love to heal.

He heard a knock of the door and wiggled out of Tallulah's grasp. He then tapped on Quackity to try and get him awake but he wouldn't wake up. So Wilbur did the polite thing and went to the door. He opened it to see Jaiden.

"Oh hi Wilbur. Quackity said to come here first thing in the morning"

"Yeah he sl-" and if on cue Wilbur felt Quackitys hand on his shoulder. He was now in full work attire.

"Good morning Jaiden!" Quackity said with his cherry voice.

"Wait how'd you get ready so fast?"

"Wilbur, a business man never reveals his tricks." Wilbur rolled his eyes to that.

"Umm Quackity? What do you need me to do today?" Jaiden asked with as much professional attitude as she could muster up.

"Oh! We just need someone supervising the entrance to the casino building. It's always busy there so be careful. Lots of drunk idiots"

"Oh okay got it" and with that Jaiden left. She honestly didn't know where she was going but realized that once she was in the elevator. She got to the main floor and found another worker. He was at the front desk of the building.
"Umm hello? Hi! My name is Jaiden and I'm new here. I was wondering where the casino is?"

This kid had blond hair and purple outfit. He seemed almost Alien. He didn't look happy to be here. "Oh your the new person. The casino is that building across the road then down"

"Thanks" Jaiden walked out and felt the sun. She walked across the road to try and find the casino. It wasn't hard. It was a huge building with a glass roof. She went and found a worker at the front desk of this building. He looked more energetic. Wait Jaiden recognized him.

"Charlie!"

"Jaiden? Your the new worker?"

"Yeah cool right?" Jaiden knew how stupid that sentence sounded, she didn't even want to work here. But she was happy to see a friend.

"Yeah! Here take this checklist and I'll start showing you the trade!"

"Okay perfect!"

Tommy was now looking at the list. He was standing outside a cute coffee shop. It used to be where Wilbur would work. He didn't come here for the memories. He needed to be in and out as fast as he could. He didn't want to be seen, his missing status would be changed very quickly if he didn't ware a hood over one of wils beanies he left. He opened the door and walked up to the counter.

"Hello what can I do for you today?"

"Umm do you know a Niki niahchu"

"Yeah she works here. She is in the back."

"Can I Talk to her?" To other people Tommy could imagined how odd it looked. A shady person walking into a cafe to ask for a worker that was cooking in the back kitchen. He sat in a corner booth. Soon he heard Niki come through the door.

"Wait-" Niki held her hands over her mouth she ran over and hugged him. Then she sat down across. "Tommy! I thought we lost you!" Niki has been a family friend forever. She was one of the few people who knew about Wilbur's hybrid situation thing.

"Yeah me And Cheyanne faked it. Don't tell Phil."

"I won't but why are you here?"

"I need your help. We are saving Wilbur but we need more people. I think you know the Caption" Niki blushed.

"Yeah they're my lover. I can also help!"

"No Niki this is dangerous"

"Tommy. I am not as weak as you think I am. You know who burned the community tree after the governor started saying bullshit"

"Wait your a villain! The villain of betrayal and hurt." Niki never got a proper name. She l isn't active at all in crime, and never announced a name for themselves.

"Yep! Not please don't underestimate me again it's not a good look, for you"

"Of course. Can we expect you and captain to join us for the day we break Wilbur out?"

"Of course. Wilbur has been my friend since primary school. Are we just breaking in?"

"Yeah!"

"Okay you get out of here don't be seen. Here have my number"

"Can you write it down? I kinda ditched my phone when I left Phil's"

"Yeah." Niki wrote her number and Tommy rushed out and back to roiers house.
