When Julie got home that night she text Sam that she made it. Then she changed into her pajamas, sat on her bed and dialed Rachel's number. As it rang she hoped she'd answer with it being a quarter passed midnight.

"Hello?" Rachel said.

"Hi." Julie said. "Did I wake you?"

"No, I'm just watching TV."

"Rachel I don't know what to do."

"What's wrong?"

"Sam and I, we kissed tonight." "We made out in my car for like an hour."

"Is he a good kisser?"

"Great." "I wouldn't have stopped him if he wanted more."

"I knew you liked him."

"I do."

"The fact that you're even talking about wanting to have sex with him, you haven't had sex since...

"Please don't remind me of that." "That was such a major mistake." "It still makes me sick that I lost my virginity to him."

"I know."

"I don't know if I can keep doing this Rachel." "I care about Sam." "I don't want to hurt him."

"Tell him the truth."

"I want to but if I do that, he won't talk to me anymore." "He'll break our date for prom."

"You're going to the prom together?"

"Yeah." "He asked me tonight." "Maybe he doesn't have to know." "If he wins or loses and he never finds out about the bet, it won't change the way I feel about him."

"It's up to you."

Julie and Camille were spending Saturday night at Rachel's. Julie got a text. It read.

I hope you're having fun. I've been thinking about you all day. – Sam

What have you been thinking? – Julie

How much I want to see you and kiss you again. – Sam

I've been thinking about that to. – Julie

"Texting with skaterfreak Julie?" Camille asked.

"That's not his name."

"I knew you were falling for that loser."

"Just shut the fuck up."

"Jesus, PMS much."

That Monday Sam was at his locker on his phone. Toby came up to him.

"Hey man." Toby said.

"Hey."

"What are you looking at?"

"Tuxes for prom."

"She talked you into that?"

"I asked her." "We kissed after we went mudding." He said smiling.

"Look dude, I know you like her but...

"What?"

"Think about it." "She's known you for four years." "She just recently starts talking to you." "It doesn't add up."

"I don't know what changed but something did and I'm glad." "Whatever you're thinking, you're wrong." He walked away.

As soon as Julie and Sam saw each other in English they wanted to kiss but knew they couldn't. The school had a very strict policy on PDA's. If caught it was punishable by suspension.

"Hi." He said sitting down next to her.

"Hi."

"What color is your prom dress?"

"Light blue." "Why?"

"Don't spoil your surprise."

"My surprise?" She said smiling.

"Yeah."

Later that night it was five till ten. Sam was counting the money in the register when he heard a knock on the glass door. He looked up and smiled when he saw Julie. He went and unlocked the door. She went inside.

"Hi." He said.

"Hi."

"Come here." They kissed slowly.

"Want a ride home?"

"Yeah." "I'm almost ready."

They pulled up outside of his house. They kissed. They both only meant for it to be one but they kept kissing. He put his palm to her cheek. Her heart was beating a million miles a second, so was his. He broke the kiss and looked at her.

"Julie, will you be my girlfriend?" He asked.
