Chapter 25

Julie had been texting Sam all night. He wasn't responding. She fell asleep at around two o'clock in the morning.

Julie woke up at around eleven o'clock the morning. She was hoping Sam would be next to her when she opened her eyes, he wasn't. She went to the bathroom and was walking down the hall that led to the living room.

"Sweetheart?" She called. "Sam?"

"What?" He said from the kitchen. She could tell from his tone he was still mad. She went into the kitchen.

"Hi sweetheart."

"Yeah."

"Where were you all night?"

"I stayed at a hotel."

"I love you."

"Yeah, I know."

"I'm scared, ok?" "That's why I don't want to get married." "My last marriage especially I thought would last forever." "We were as happy as you and I are now." "Then we got married and everything changed." "I don't want that to happen again."

"It wouldn't."

"We don't know that."

"Julie, do you see yourself with anybody else?"

"What?" "Of course not Sam." "All I want is you, forever."

"That's what I want to." "I get that you're scared but-

Julie's phone rang. "It's the adoption agency."

"Answer it."

"Hello?" She said. "Yes, thank you." "Bye." She hung up and looked at Sam.

"Our application's been approved." She said smiling. "We're on the wait list." They hugged.

"I'm sorry."

"No, I'm sorry." "I don't wanna fight."

"Me neither."

"I'll think about marriage."

"Ok."

"You know it isn't you right?"

"I know."

"I love you."

"I love you too." They kissed. "Since we're on the waiting list now, we have to look for another place."

"I think we should move back to Atlanta."

"I think we should to."

"A house that's ours." "Come on."

"Where are we going?"

"To the bedroom."
