As a stubborn person I was I decided to go home. At some points I can literally slap myself. Why did I have to go home? Why didn't I listen to my mum?

With my heart beating out of my chest and drops of sweat streaming down my back I made my way home. I didn't know what I would expect to see and as I cycle upwards our ramp I see my uncles car.

I recognized the car immediately. When I was younger my uncle, my dad and I used to make small road trips. Mum prepared our lunch and I got to choose where we were going. These were literally the best moments out of my life. I'll remember these forever.

I took a deep breath, carefully unlocked the door and stepped inside.

"Please Anthony, dial the emergency number", I heard my mum's voice saying.

I was still standing in the corridor, while her voice came closer and closer. She opened the door and saw me. Her face was completely pale and make-up was smudged all over her face. She looked exhausted.

"Oh, Beth.."

She walked towards me and wrapped her arms around me. She started crying and I stroke her back. I was really getting worried, but I was scared to ask her what was wrong. From the atmosphere around the house I really could tell something worse happened. I wanted to unwrap her arms, but before I could even do that two men ran of the ambulance ran in.

"Upstairs", was what my mum mumbled.

"Mum? Mum, what is wrong?", I asked with her arms still wrapped around me.

She unwrapped her arms and placed her hands on my shoulders. I could see the fear and uncertainty in her eyes. She looked at me with a worried expression in her face.

"Mum, please?"

And before she could even answer the two men who ran upstairs came back with a man on a stretcher. I looked at my mum, but she looked away.

At that moment everything went really fast. I was so confused and I couldn't tell what happened, but when the two men wanted to lift the man up and the blanket fell of his body, I froze. He had carves of a rope around his neck and some bad bruises. Then I saw who this person was.

I remember breaking and falling down on the ground. The tension got too much, I needed to throw up and everything got blurry. While I was passing out they took the man away, they took my dad away.
