"HEY, WATCH IT!"

Is what I heard before getting slammed into a locker.

"What the hey?!," I sat on the ground  rubbing my elbow.

Well that's gonna hurt tomorrow...

"Are you okay?"

I looked up and saw a girl around my age staring at me.

"Don't worry about it, I'll be fine."

I took the hand she offered and allowed her to pull me up.

"I'm Lily," she smiled.

"Jane," I replied.

She was about the same hight as me. She had blue eyes, dark brown hair, and a tan complexion. With designer jeans and a top that probably cost more than my tv, I was kind of uncomfortable in my worn jeans and plain pink and gray shirt. But hey, I'm not one to judge.

"Nice to meet you," she said.

"You too....um, I should probably go to class. Don't want to be late on the first day you know."

"Sure, what do you have for first period?"

"Art," I replied without thinking.

"What am I doing? I can't make any friends!" I criticized myself.

"Great, me too!" She smiled.

As we walked-I followed, having no idea where I was going-she started babbling on about her life..and surprisingly, I found myself listening. I thought that maybe, just maybe, we could be friends after all.
